Rory's tapping away on her laptop, biting her lip.

Dewey peers into the library, then walks straight up to the girl with the laptop.

"So, are you the Li-berrian?" he asks, smiling.

Rory glanced up, arching a brow.

"No...sir...just an aide. Can I help you?"

"Naw, no. Dewey Finn, your acting Principal." Dewey gives a little finger wave. "Just trying to get things all settled and figured out and stuff. You get a lot of kids comin' in here? Avid reader types?"

Rory blinked.

"Um, sir, yes we do," she said, smiling and unconsciously shifting to her 'talking to important grown-ups' voice. "We have a few regulars who come in every day, and then there's always a few who are doing research, or just need a quiet place to study."

"Awesome!" Dewey says in a not-so-library-quiet-voice, giving twin thumbs up. "Regular geek squad hang out, alright. So, when I have trouble with my computer, I'll just come to the library and grabd the first kid I see." Dewey nods and grins.

"Um. Actually, I don't know a thing about computers," Rory glanced at her laptop and smiled sheepishly. "What I mean is, most of the people who come in here could probably be classified as book nerds rather than computer geeks."

"Damn!" Dewey covers his mouth. "I mean, darn! No swearin' in front of the impressionable youth, right? I think that was part of my ten minute orientation call I got yesterday. No swearing." Dewey nods. "So... come here and grab someone if I need to find out what happens in the last pages of Moby Dick or something? That's cool too. Not as useful, but still cool."

"Right...or you could always get a library card yourself and find out," Rory suggested.

Zero comes in and tosses her stuff down before pulling out what appears to be a smutty pirate novel There may also be a ninja. "Morning, Rory."

"What on earth are you reading?" Parker said, turning her head and trying to see the title around the lurid cover art.

"Found it under the spare bed in my room. Jubilee must've left it." Zero shrugged and let Parker see the book, which had the unfortunate title of The Jade Flower.

"Please? Judging by that robe she's almost-wearing on the cover, this should be good for a laugh as well as the smut." Parker grinned, then frowned. "Oh, right. Your brother's girlfriend. Right?"

"My brother's boyfriend, actually," Zero says without looking up from her book. "Remember? They showed 'em together at Pride '96 on the show."

"I remember Arsenal yelling, and you nearly getting arrested a lot better. Your brother and his boyfriend were pretty calm by comparison." Parker snickered. "Why *did* your mom break into the hotel safe, anyway?"

Angela nods to Rory, taking a huge gulp from her coffee.

"Hey. You feeling okay?"

"Uh huh," Rory nodded, glancing up. "Sending emails about study group, and all that."

"Oh," Angela says. "I should ... check my email." She toddles off to one of the library computer terminals.

A few minutes later, after threads have been tied together, she comes back to the desk. "I have no idea why we email back and forth when we're right in the same room. Anyhow, it sounds good. Not good, but ... you know."

"Hey, I know people who text message while sitting right beside each other," Rory said with a small smile. "And at least we have the excuse of wanting to keep things quiet." She glanced around innocently. "Library and all, y'know."

Angela grins. "True. Plus, this is another weird time travel thing. Email was, like, this new geeky thing only Brian Krakow liked back at my old school. Now it's inescapable."

"Please tell me I do not sound like I'm 105."

"Only ninety, I promise," Rory teased. "And yeah, I keep forgetting you're technically like ten years older than me."

"Yeah," Rory said, quirking a brow. "He's...odd. And he put the Chosen One thing on his application. Probably just to annoy Janet."

She made a face. "By the way? I don't get that."
