Announcement and Refugee Hosting in The Gym, Friday Evening

The P.A. crackles to life.

"We shall be opening our doors to the poor, powerless townsfolk. They are to gather in the gym. Volunteers to help organize blankets, bedding, food, and etcetera would be very welcome."

Smith then walks down to the gym, props open the doors, and walks away. This was going to be a mess, and he felt ignoring it would be the best method to deal with it, rather than letting his head explode. Again.

[ooc: Huzzah! Townies can come to this post for their safety and warmth! Screening is disabled! Students and Teachers are welcome to organize something... but as it's an emergency, we hath not actually organized the refugee effort! Organize! Be Swift! But above all, interact and have fun!]

Maia looked at a total loss for words "I-well-I- well we were talking really soft and you know how loud the lunch room is. I- nobody heard us." She said still in a very quiet voice. "I- Lana I'm so sorry I didn't, well he told me so I didn't think it was.." Maia looked close to tears herself now thinking she had just wounded one of her closest friends "Lana sweetheart I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I haven't told a soul and I won't."

Lana shrugs sadly. "It's okay. I just..." She sighs. "I didn't keep it from you on purpose, Maia. I just... well... it was kind of the start of things for me and Shep. And it was all kind of exciting and private and really unlike me and..."

She blushes. "It was a completely new experience and I just... wasn't sure how much I wanted to share it with anyone."

Maia nodded and smiled understandingly "I understand Lana really. Its nobody's business but your own and Sheps." She smiled again to reassure her "Really, I mean well I don't tell you everything you know about things like that." She said softly. "It is exciting though, things like that." She blushed a little about to say something but didn't. "It's nice to do things that aren't the norm for you you know?"

"Yeah," Lana said, wrinkling her nose a little. "I feel kind of weird talking to you about it in a way. I mean I told you I wasn't at all into girls - and I'm really not, but it was *Han*, you know? And... I don't know... It was a really great experience, but not one I think a lot of people would understand - especially not back home."

Maia smiled "I wish you wouldn't feel weird about it." She said softly "Really I mean it was Han and well he was a guy underneath in there and even if he was a real girl it wouldn't have made you gay you know. What matters is you had a really nice experience and it just happened to be Han as a girl." Maia smiled again to reassure her. "I mean- well all that matters is you enjoyed it." Maia said remembering Paige's words when Maia told her about Pip.

Lana looks at her a little strangely. "I'm not worried about people thinking I'm gay," she said carefully. "I'm more worried that people would call me a slut. And that you would think I'd lied to you about not being into women."

Maia smiled at Lana a little sadly but it was a real smile. "I don't think anyone would ever call you a slut Lana and I would never think you lied to me. Would you think I was a liar if I said I slept with Pip? Because I am into women and have never made love with a guy?"

"No," Lana replied. "But I'm also not a guy that you told you didn't sleep with guys and who might think you'd said it just 'cause you didn't like him."

Lana hesitated. "Wait, you slept with Pip? Really?"

It took Maia replaying Lana's first statement in her head twice to get the meaning of it and then she shook her head "No." she whispered almost furiously "I would never think you said that to me just so you would get out of me possibly liking you like that Lana. Your my friend and I would...no." Maia said again "That never crossed my mind." As she answered that the second part of Lana's words cut through to her and she bit her lip nodding slowly "Yeah I did." She suddenly became very interested in her hands that were in her lap. Finally she met Lana's eyes, fear in them, "Do you think I'm a slut now?"

Lana looks confused again, "God, no. Why would I? Oh... you mean because of what I said? No, no, I meant 'cause of the two guys together, you know? Well, one guy and one sort of guy/girl."

She's bright red now. "Not that we exactly... well... I mean, I didn't really... We...*I* didn't do the actual sex-sex thing, you know? But back home... that sort of distinction really wouldn't matter. Not sure it would here either with some people."

Maia looked relieved that Lana did not think her a slut for sleeping with a boy. She smiled at Lana's explanation of the night "You don't have to tell me." She said in an even quieter voice "Its none of my business." She smiled to reassure Lana she was ok with it and that she didn't have to reveal things she didn't want to.

Lana let a deep breath out. "Thanks. It's just, well... kind of private, you know. Though," she says with the hint of a smile. "Maybe someday when we're not in public..."

Maia grinned and nodded, leaning forward though she whispered in Lana's ear. "Pip was really nice."

Maia giggled and turned about three shades of red squirming in her seat and coughing a little.

Maia laughed realizing what Lana meant. "Yeah yeah." She giggled still furiously red, she had only told Paige about Pip and she was still getting used to the idea herself. "Shep is never going to let me live this down if he finds out." Maia said shaking her head but smiling. Shep seemed to adore taking the mickey out on Maia and Chiana's relationship, added the Pip element would only add more fuel to his fire.

Maia smiled warmly at Lana "Thank you." She said in that soft voice of hers. "I was just curious you know. He's going to come stay over at my place tonight."

Maia sat back in the chair laughing and rolling her eyes "Pip." She managed to say between laughing and giggling at the look on Lana's face.

"Oh thank God" Lana says with relief, then looks terribly embarrassed. "I mean, just... sorry. Missed the subject change there."

Maia laughed at the thought of Shep in her room, nothing dirty but still it made her laugh "Oh no, its fine." She smiled. "Yeah its just Pip."

"Well... good," Lana said with a smile. "I'm sure you'll enjoy yourselves..."

She can't help shaking her head, "I can't believe you and Pip... and Shep and I still haven't..." She breaks off, realizing what she's saying and blushes furiously. "Um... never mind. Just forget I said that."

Maia blushed just as red as Lana. "I-well we- well it wasn't really planned it just kinda happened." She said squirming again in her seat "And well, you guys will I mean its just, well it just kinda happens when it happens you know."
