Announcement and Refugee Hosting in The Gym, Friday Evening

The P.A. crackles to life.

"We shall be opening our doors to the poor, powerless townsfolk. They are to gather in the gym. Volunteers to help organize blankets, bedding, food, and etcetera would be very welcome."

Smith then walks down to the gym, props open the doors, and walks away. This was going to be a mess, and he felt ignoring it would be the best method to deal with it, rather than letting his head explode. Again.

[ooc: Huzzah! Townies can come to this post for their safety and warmth! Screening is disabled! Students and Teachers are welcome to organize something... but as it's an emergency, we hath not actually organized the refugee effort! Organize! Be Swift! But above all, interact and have fun!]

"But this will be so cosy," Sam grinned. "Think of all the new people you'll meet. Cultures to be learned about. Anthropology at its finest, remember?"

"This coming from the girl who will be returning to her dorm room to sleep tonight," Daniel pointed out. "And I've done anthropology at it's finest. It didn't look like this."

"Well, sure. I'd invite you up, but I don't think we're allowed to do that." She shrugged, "besides, I brought my spare mattress down here anyway."

Sam glanced around. "No, anthropology at its finest always seemed to have more shooting, didn't it? doesn't look like this. It's still a great opportunity, though."

"Sam, as much as I adore you, if I were allowed to stay in a student's room... you'd be my second choice," Daniel admitted in a whisper.

"If you say so. I'm thinking my office floor is looking pretty tempting. And there's probably enough paperwork in there for me to lie on."

Sam laughed. A lot. "Your second choice has a bunch of roommates. Including the guy I think I'm still dating."

"Don't sleep on old lectures, Daniel. That's just...sad."

"But yet, the one big advantage more than makes up for it." He started looking around at the masses of people. "Is she around?"

"Well, I'm hardly going to sleep on the homework they've just handed in, am I?"

"I haven't seen her much lately. She wasn't in ACJ yesterday either, come to think of it. Wasn't she with you?" Sam asked, concerned.

"I...don't know exactly how to respond to that, Daniel."

Daniel looked equally concerned. "No... I've not seen her in a while, what with this cold which was actually the flu," he said. "Anyone else around we could ask about her?"

"I saw her after that," Sam said. "I guess when she missed class, I assumed she...overslept...again. There's always her roommates--maybe Marty or Aeryn know something?"

"Er...Martin Blank. Good guy for a retired hitman with a newfound respect for life. Kind of a gremlin bite magnet though--he's the guy who thought he was Principal Connor and one of the Bradys....er, dated Angela Chase for a while?"
