Announcement and Refugee Hosting in The Gym, Friday Evening

The P.A. crackles to life.

"We shall be opening our doors to the poor, powerless townsfolk. They are to gather in the gym. Volunteers to help organize blankets, bedding, food, and etcetera would be very welcome."

Smith then walks down to the gym, props open the doors, and walks away. This was going to be a mess, and he felt ignoring it would be the best method to deal with it, rather than letting his head explode. Again.

[ooc: Huzzah! Townies can come to this post for their safety and warmth! Screening is disabled! Students and Teachers are welcome to organize something... but as it's an emergency, we hath not actually organized the refugee effort! Organize! Be Swift! But above all, interact and have fun!]

"Somebody from town?" Tommy asked.

No, someone here. I'm going out to look for a friend in town afterwards, but I can help out until then."

"Not fit for man nor beast out there, kid," Tommy warned him. "If you've got a friend, better leave the authorities to find him. That way we're not digging out your corpse too."

"I don't have to take my friend, and I'm using a tank. I haven't heard from my buddy in town." Togusa frowned a little. "What can I do to help you until my friend comes back?"

"You've got a tank?" Tommy blinked. "What, you driving an Oldsmobile or something?"

"A clunker car like that? No, it's a think tank. Called a Tachikoma. It can handle this weather." Togusa would have drawn up a diagram, but since he was having issues with his connections, he figured he would have to explain it the hard way. "A little taller than me, and has six legs to roll on, including walls."

He didn't hear the tank calling for him.

"Well shit," Tommy said. "Mazel Tov. You're better equipped to handle this than I was."

Togusa rolled his eyes. "You asked, I told," he snerked.

"So what are you? ROTC?" Tommy asked.

"ROTC? No, just a student. I'm hoping to get into Section Nine when I graduate." Togusa answered.

"What the fuck is Section Nine?"

Re: ...

"An organization dedicated to investigating cybercrimes and terrorism on the Internet." Togusa yanked one of his wrires out from the back of his neck and held it out. It looked like a jack that would plug into a computer. "I'm hoping to get in there soon."

Walter appeared out of nowhere behind Togusa, having just hauled ass through the gym to find him.

"Togusa, Tachikoma's here looking for you." He pointed toward the ceiling in the general vicinity of where he had last seen the think tank.

"Good." He looked up. "Tachi! Get down and go outside! We're looking for Batou!"

Above thier heads, the tank revealed itself and moved sullenly down the wall to outside the gym. "Later," he said to Tommy. Turning to Walter, he asked, "Got Pup? We're going out," as he walked away.

Walter looked at the man Togusa had been speaking with and whom Walter had just interrupted and shrugged apologetically before following Togusa. "No, Pup is in Victor's room. I just got the key from him and was on my way out when I ran in to Tachi."

"Sweet Jesus Christ on a polka-dotted bicycle," Tommy said. He looked at the wire. "What in the hell are you?"

"Human," Togusa shot over his shoulder before walking away.

[OOC: Sorry I missed that last post. BTW, I worship you for playing Tommy.]

"Pull the left one, pal, it plays Silent Night," Tommy shot back.

[ooc: No worries. I'm losing replies in the rush too. Man, just had to get the firefighter in game the week of an emergency. ;) And thanks!]
