Announcement and Refugee Hosting in The Gym, Friday Evening

The P.A. crackles to life.

"We shall be opening our doors to the poor, powerless townsfolk. They are to gather in the gym. Volunteers to help organize blankets, bedding, food, and etcetera would be very welcome."

Smith then walks down to the gym, props open the doors, and walks away. This was going to be a mess, and he felt ignoring it would be the best method to deal with it, rather than letting his head explode. Again.

Maia's smiled widened as she blushed a little "Well its a good excuse though." she said her eyes amused.

Pip grinned at her blush. "Best excuse, really. It's like when it's raining really hard and you're inside and it feels really good. When it's cold out it feels really good to snuggle with someone."

Maia nodded and swallowed hard "Yes it is, nice to snuggle when its cold I mean." Her voice was very soft as she said this. "To keep warm and to feel good."

Pip nodded. "It would also free up beds so that more people could take them. If people were to share beds and snuggle. Hell, it'd be a helpful thing to do."

Maia nodded back "It would and yeah we'd be helping so many people if we did that..." She stopped and bit her lip "I mean, if everyone did that." She was embarrassed to presume he was suggesting they snuggle up in the cold.

"You and I?" Pip asked, as if the idea had never occured to him. "Well, I would mind, myself. And it would mean that since me and Togusa would be giving up our beds, we could give up an entire room to someone. A family, perhaps." He looked at her seriously. "Would you mind?

Maia looked serious "Oh no I wouldn't mind at all and that is so nice of you both to do that, I mean we'd be helping a whole family out if we snuggled up in my room." Maia was relieved Pip didn't think she was crazy for thinking of them snuggling together.

Pip shrugged. "Well, it's a great sacrifice, I know. But that's the kind of person that I am, self-sacrificing."

Maia grinned now "You are and if you want." Maia pulled her key card out of her back pocket. "You can get your stuff and put it in my room, so after everything settles down we don't have to worry about it."

Pip nodded. "Probably a good idea," Pip said, taking her key. "I can take the time to grab the bedroll I have up in my closet." He leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. "I'll catch you later, then," he said, winking.

Maia couldn't help but smile as she watched him walk away. Gotta love cold weather.

"Back," Pip said, sneaking up behind Maia. "Need any help?"

"OO" Maia said jumping a little and turning to see Pip. She laughed and pulled the chair "Sure." She said happy to have the help. "Did you get in the room ok? The card sticks sometimes."

Pip lit up a cigarette and nodded. "Wasn't a problem," he grabbed a seat and sat next to Maia. "Kind of amazing how people can pull together to help, isn't it? I like seeing stuff like that."

Maia nodded "Yeah it really is. It was like this when I was in Quarantine." Maia said in an offhanded manner sipping her tea. "The togetherness I mean."

"Quarantine?" Pip asked. He suddenly wished had stopped to grab some tea.

Maia nodded setting the glass down "Yeah when we came back, the government put us all in quarantine for a couple months." Maia shrugged a little "I've been back in quarantine twice since then." She realized that must sound bad and added quickly "I don't have a disease or anything like that." She smiled.

Pip laughed. "Well, if you do, I've already caught it from you and I'm afraid that there's nothing left I can do."

Maia laughed "Indeed, you'll end up with an some freaking 4400 disease or ability" Maia shook her head

Pip smirked. "Well, there are worse STDs you could get. Sleep with someone, get a special abillity."

Maia laughed "Well Mr. Pip I don't think you have to worry about that one. My abilities are only transferable to offspring." She laughed "Though I dare say my son won't see as strongly as I do, he's going to move things around with his mind among other things." She stretched a little and sipped her tea and looked around the gym "Insane in here." She said shaking her head as though what she had said earlier was simply a discussion of the weather. "Will be nice to get up into the room and continue our humanitarian efforts in a more intimate setting."
