Thank God it's Friday. Parker's hoping to just get through today and then go kill people. She'll help you, but wouldn't you rather be elsewhere?

Parker's here. She has coffee already. And a lighter. She's wishing for cigarettes.

Angela rushes in after math.

"Have you talked to Rory?" she says, not bothering with a greeting.

"No, I left her a voicemail, she hasn't called back," Parker said, also ignoring the niceties. "I assume Anakin looked after her, but still. Goddamn Darla."

"I left her a voicemail too. It was Darla? All I know is what Bridge said on the radio."

She crosses her arms, leaning on the counter. "Anakin should use his powers to stake her. It shouldn't be hard to get close enough, she's fucking everywhere this week."

"Definitely." Parker might still have reservations about Anakin, but this? No-brainer. "Aeryn left me a message this morning, she's had it too. As soon as I get a hold of her, I think we need to grab Angel, see if he's healed up, and then go looking for those two." She glared out the window. "Although possibly waiting until the damn snow stops would be good."

"Maybe the snow is keeping them in ... wherever she and psycho squid lady hang out?" Angela says, not looking entirely convinced. "But whenever you guys go hunting, I want to come along. I still have that cross Phale gave me, so I shouldn't be too easy to turn into a snack."

She glances at the library phone. "I wish Rory would just call us. Think she stayed with Anakin last night?"

Rory walked in, blinking blearily.

No makeup, and her hair's not only mussed but frizzy - as though she'd gone to sleep with it wet, in fact.

"Hi," she said with a wane smile.

[ooc: Okay, let's all cross our fingers and hope that I get a wireless signal in this class...otherwise I'll be AFK until 3:30]

"Hey!" Parker jumped off her swivel chair, then stood awkwardly in front of Rory before finally leaning forward and patting her arm. "How are you feeling? Can I get you coffee? Did you sleep at all?"

"Everything Parker said," Angela adds, waiting until the girls have seperated before leaning in with her own hug for Rory. "I'm terrified for you, you know that?"

Rory carefully returned the hug.

"Yeah. Last night was...yes. So. What did the radio say about it?"

"Just that someone scary grabbed you and you got away, then went to Angel and Anakin. I didn't know for sure that it was Darla until Parker told me."

She gives Rory a cautious look, trying to decipher whether her friend wants to talk about it. "You okay, really?"

Anakin walked in just behind Rory, then pulled a random book off of the shelf and sat down in a spot where he could keep his eye on Rory and the door.

He opened the book and pretended to read.

He never turned a page.

Rory shot Anakin a grateful smile.

It was nice having a very tall, very protective person following her around again.

And screw secrecy.

After hearing the radio, Sam reported to the library to see what was being done about the vampires and what she could do to help. As you do .

She stomped over to the desk. "So, what the hell are we doing about this?"

Parker grimaced and didn't pretend to misunderstand Carter. "I'm thinking pitchforks and torches. Aeryn called and sounded up for it. You in, if we can find those crazy bitches?"

"Oh yeah." Sam nodded firmly. "And I can probably do better for you than a pitchfork." She grabbed a sheet of paper and a pencil off the desk and began sketching furiously. "Anyone heard how Rory is?"

"Rory's fine," the girl in question said as she emerged from putting a book away in the stacks. "Physcially, anyway. Hi Sam."

"Rory!" Sam reached to hug her, then stopped mid-movement, not sure how Rory would be dealing with physical contact after being attacked. "I'm glad you're physically okay, at least. The mental stuff might take a little longer."

She also made a mental note to talk to Rory at some later date about learning some fighting techniques. Maybe Aeryn and Callisto would be willing to help out.

Cameron headed into the library after class. He needed some space to think before going back to Vala, she'd be able to read him way too easily. He probably could bring her some books on England to keep busy while he was here.

Archie saw Cam on his way into the stacks and waved before disappearing on his ongoing quest to Learn More About Automobiles.

"Hello, Cameron," he said as he returned loaded down with books. "I haven't seen you in a while."

By way of reply, Archie pointed to The Idiot's Guide to Automobiles with a grimace. "I'm certainly having a very eye-opening semester so far. Advanced Criminal Justice is easy as a wink compared to Driver's Education. I'm completely lost in that class. And I'm not looking forward to having to play muscle for the beautification committee. Other than that, though, things are well enough."

"Resting in bed if she knows what's good for her," Cameron replied. "I thought I'd keep out of her hair for just a while before I really start working on her nerves." That and if he went back right now, she'd see right through him.
