Library, 1/27

Thank God it's Friday. Parker's hoping to just get through today and then go kill people. She'll help you, but wouldn't you rather be elsewhere?

Rory walked in, blinking blearily.

No makeup, and her hair's not only mussed but frizzy - as though she'd gone to sleep with it wet, in fact.

"Hi," she said with a wane smile.

[ooc: Okay, let's all cross our fingers and hope that I get a wireless signal in this class...otherwise I'll be AFK until 3:30]

"Hey!" Parker jumped off her swivel chair, then stood awkwardly in front of Rory before finally leaning forward and patting her arm. "How are you feeling? Can I get you coffee? Did you sleep at all?"

"Everything Parker said," Angela adds, waiting until the girls have seperated before leaning in with her own hug for Rory. "I'm terrified for you, you know that?"

Rory carefully returned the hug.

"Yeah. Last night was...yes. So. What did the radio say about it?"

"Just that someone scary grabbed you and you got away, then went to Angel and Anakin. I didn't know for sure that it was Darla until Parker told me."

She gives Rory a cautious look, trying to decipher whether her friend wants to talk about it. "You okay, really?"

"Physically, I'm fine," Rory said. "I have a headache because she drugged me, and you can see my wrists where she tied me up." She pushed up her sleeves, revealing faint redness where the bonds had been. "But other than that...she said she was going to kill me. Or turn me. But then she didn't. So...I don't know what's going on."

Angela examines the marks, a look of disgust on her face.

"It almost sounds like it's a game for her," she muses with a shudder. "Like, she never really wanted to do anything to you, she just wanted to make you think she did?"

"You were lucky, either way."

Rory nodded.

"Angel says she's trying to send a message, with scaring all the students and stuff."

"Sounds like it," Angela says, thinking. "I just wish she would just, like, write a letter, or something."

She taps her fingernails on the desk. "The only ones they physically hurt -- other than tying you up -- were Vala and Janet, right? I wonder why."

Rory shrugged. "She certainly threatened to, and had the opportunity," she mused, her hand going to her throat, remembering the knife. "Angel was mad."

"Good. I would worry if he wasn't." She glances over at Parker. "Did Squid Lady really sic her minions on him?"

"I think that's what he told Professor Lyman. Also? He - Angel, not Mr. Lyman - went to Darla's a little while ago and covered her stuff in holy water. And I think he's going to try to do something like that again," Rory said.

Angela tilts her head to one side, thinking about this.

"Is his idea to scare her until they decide to leave town? Because, seriously, someone should just stake the whores before they kill somebody. If they haven't already. I don't get the point of anything else."

"Wait, he knew where she was?" Parker's voice was starting to rise. "And he didn't kill her then? I'm gonna kick his ass!"

"He is mad though." Rory shook her head. "I think I understand the reasoning. They do share a tie. But they need to be dealt with."

"Screw ties. I told him he didn't have to be the one to do it, I told him he could take back-up! The next time we see him? You guys hold him down, I'll slap some sense into him." Parker hissed out a breath. "There's a line around the block to do it if he's got issues."

"I agree with Parker," Angela says. "They have a tie, that's nice, whatever -- they're evil and they're hurting students. Also, even if he got them to leave? They would just be evil and killing people somewhere else. I don't get how that's better."

"Yes. He wasn't saying how many, but more than a dozen, by the look of it." Parker grimaced. "He said some of them got away, too. We have a serious infestation of creepy mouth-breathing bloodsuckers on our hands."

Anakin walked in just behind Rory, then pulled a random book off of the shelf and sat down in a spot where he could keep his eye on Rory and the door.

He opened the book and pretended to read.

He never turned a page.

Rory shot Anakin a grateful smile.

It was nice having a very tall, very protective person following her around again.

And screw secrecy.
