Library, 1/24

Angela is seated behind the collections desk, flipping through a volume of poetry as she nibbles on some trail mix.

She is available for all your library aide needs.

Parker stared at Angela, then shook her head. "He wouldn't dare. He *knows* how much I'd kill him if he tried this." Mostly. She was pretty sure. Besides, she asked for help, and he said he would. Except... "Okay, he might have, this is the kind of thing he used to pull when we were in Blue Cove, but he was in *shock* over that stupid song last night. So no. Besides, he's not here to see this," she gestured to herself, "so it has to be someone who can at least verify that I'm looking like I shopped at K-Mart today. Grrr."

Parker ground her teeth. "Very mean. And if he's in on it? He's gonna suffer, Angela. I won't kill him. Or even break any bones. On campus, anyway." She slumped in her seat, for once looking her age. "It's just so damn frustrating. I could get Broots to look up stuff, I could ask I-Club for magic help, but they already said not to do that! And if it's Marty or Jarod, or even just someone else who knows me, they probably won't hurt Esme. But I bet they might keep her indefinitely, or adopt her out!"

"I'd hope so, but I'm betting it goes in threes." Parker sighed. "Whatever. At least they proved they have her, and she looks fine in the photo they sent me. Munching on kibble, but fine. I bet they don't feed her any carrots." She shook herself. "And I don't know if Marty's in on it, but he damn well has been warned now. He can't say he wasn't."

Trying to think of anything else to talk about, she said, "How's the hair color working out?"

Parker tugged on her own temporarily-mandated ponytail, and said, "Hair's not a small issue. Think it through." Then she grinned. "We gave Dr. Pierson his present yesterday. Sorry you couldn't be there."

"He did. And he looked damn cool in it, too. He knows it was from you as well." Parker smiled. "I'm sorry you're not in history. Zero and I are having fun pestering him in that class."

"I'm struggling with five plus more StuCo. We're going to scale back I-Club to once a month, which should help. But I'm sure you'll enjoy it, next semester. How are you enjoying Government?" Parker smirked. "Professor Lyman is a lot of fun for campaigning, at least."
