Library (1/10/06)

After ACJ, Janet went up to her room, grabbed her backpack, and came back over to open up the library. She sat down behind the Collections Desk and started to process any library card applications that weren't finished yesterday.

Sam wandered into the library, and having no homework yet, decided to go harass Janet. Purely in the interest of friendship, of course.

She leaned over on the desk and drawled, "So, I noticed someone forgot her backpack today..."

Janet managed to both look very innocent and like a woman who'd gotten very lucky the night before. "I went out for a jog last night and I was just so tired that I missed my alarm," she said. She stuck her tongue out at Sam. "You'll notice that I barely made it to class on time? I didn't even stop for coffee."

"Huh. Tiring stuff, that jogging," Sam smirked. "I did notice. Must have been really tired, to forget coffee."

Especially Daniel had pounds of the good stuff at his place.

"It's very tiring," said Janet, a little too pleased with herself to be annoyed at Sam. "And my alarm went off very late."

Daniel had tried to get her to stay for coffee breakfast, but her class had started awfully early.

"Well, if you want me to take a look at, make sure it's not broken, I'd be happy to do that," Sam said innocently. "And we should really get back into morning runs. I can't believe how exhausted I was after running with Lee a few days ago."

"I'm pretty sure I just slept through it for the first half hour or so," said Janet, glaring at Sam and her excessive level of amusement.

This was payback for locking her in the closet, Janet just knew it.

I've just started running again myself," said Janet. "But I can't find a regular time to do it in. You're right, we need to do this regularly."

"Well, if you're sure..." Sam couldn't wait to tease Daniel.

"I've got 8 am classes every day except Friday," Sam groaned. "So our choices are either to go before that, or to be a little lazier and go during Period 3, Periods 6-7, or over lunch."

"I'm positive," said Janet firmly. She wondered how long it was going to take Sam to visit Daniel's office.

"We're in trouble," said Janet, pulling out her schedule and consulting it. "I have a third period class Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, a sixth period class on Wednesdays, and a seventh period on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays." She sighed. "My schedule is strange this semester. We're going to have to go early or during lunch. Personally, I could skip lunch eat during fifth period. I only have one fifth period class during the week."

"Well, early would definitely keep me ready for the academy," Sam sighed, "though I've kind of grown to enjoy sleeping in when I can. Want to be lazy bums and run during lunch? I've got Quantum Physics fifth period twice a week, but I can eat after that."
