Library (1/10/06)

After ACJ, Janet went up to her room, grabbed her backpack, and came back over to open up the library. She sat down behind the Collections Desk and started to process any library card applications that weren't finished yesterday.

"I don't think I'm a "Chosen One", so I'm cool," Victor said, taking the form and filling it out. "I don't have any classes until 4th period today, and even that's P.E., so I figured I'd see what was around. Is this the only place to get books around here, or are there any stores in town?"

Angela goes to type Victor's information into the computer, processing his card. She prints it out and hands it to him. "The Emporium has some paperbacks and stuff, but the big store is Phale's, which is mostly used and rare. But Mr. Phale doesn't really like actually selling books from what I hear."

"Why not? And what about that ferret guy I heard about on the radio? What kind of bookstore does he run?"

"The ferret guy is Mr. Phale," Angela says with a smirk. "I don't know about the ferrets, though. I haven't been to his store in a couple weeks. And I don't know why he doesn't like selling books -- it's just yet another quirk of this town."

"Yeah, this town is quirky. So, do I need anything else? How many books can I check out at once, and when are they due?"

"Just the card," Angela says. "Unlimited books at one time. You can keep them for three weeks, stop by if you need to renew." She rummages through the desk. "Here are the rules from last term, though some of them might not apply with the new librarian."

"Thanks," Victor replied. He then got out of the librarian's way and continued to talk with Pip.
