Library (12/20/05)

Janet ran towards the library. She'd overslept, and it looked like no one else had gotten it open yet. She flipped on the lights, unloaded the food from last night's shopping trip with Parker, made sure that no one but library staff could get to the food, and sat down to start eating while she finished up her Classics project.

Lee enters the library as usual, finds a corner and works on his sestina.

Angela waves to Lee. "Hey," she says, noticing he seems to be writiing a poem. "Is that for Chaucer? I just handed mine in, thank god."

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Way to go, Angela!" he says with a smile. "Mine is giving me ever so grief."
chasingangela: (Dreams)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-12-20 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Mine is probably, like, the worst gothy drek ever penned," Angela says. "But it's done."

"It's weird, I love writing, but I like it way less with all the rules and stuff."

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"I much prefer blank verse myself, yes," Lee agrees. "Will you be taking advanced poetry in the spring, do you think?"
chasingangela: (scarf)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-12-20 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't think so," Angela admits. "I love Geoff as a friend, but there are so many other things I want to take, y'know?"

"How about you?"

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not sure yet," he replies thoughtfully. "I like poetry, but I think I prefer writing it over studying it. Plus, there's the whole deal about my father disapproving of me writing poetry...."
chasingangela: (charms)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-12-20 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"That sucks," Angela says sympathetically. "What does he want you to do instead?"

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Err.... I'm notquite sure. He's usually just saying "don't do that" and not offering up suggestions of what I should be doing," he laughs.
chasingangela: (black mess)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-12-20 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"The whole "whatever you do is wrong" thing? I get that from my mom sometimes. Though she usually has suggestions for what I should do," Angela scowls. "But you should write poetry, if it makes you happy. Seriously."

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well," and he laughs, "it doesn't make me happy per se, but it's nice."
chasingangela: (Dreams)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-12-20 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"Nice is ... nice," Angela says, feeling the champagne rushing to her head.

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Say, is that champagne?" Lee says, now noticing all the food and drink.
chasingangela: (happy)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-12-20 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sparkling cider," Angela says, not sounding completely convincing. "End-of-semester party for the library staff."

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah, the staff, very nice," he says with a cheeky grin.

After a couple glasses of champagne and some very good caviar, Parker weaves her way over to Lee. "Hey, Apollo Adama. How are you feeling?" she asks, looking amused.

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Awestruck that I'm not dead yet," he muses and grins at her. "How are you holding up?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"Pretty well. New infusions of 'sparkling cider'--" she put quote marks around the words, "--are making today even happier. And hey, new toy! There is no bad there. Plus, all my classes and finals are done, and I have A's so far. Do you want some water for the hangover?"

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"After this afternoon, I'm in the market for more "sparkling cider" as you call it," he says, rolling his eyes. "And congrats on the straight A's, Parker."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thanks. Oh, did Thrace like her presents? I still have the receipts, if she wanted different music."

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"I have informed her that your presents are in my room, she has yet to retrieve them," he says succinctly.

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah," Parker said, thinking, Nooooot gonna touch that one. "So why do you need more 'sparkling cider'? This stuff's for us, but I could get you some more. Probably. Heh. I mean, what's not to celebrate after last night?"

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"Indeed," he says, "but don't worry, I'm fine."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sure," Parker said, a little puzzled. "Talk to you later."

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
He waves and returns to his sestina.
