Library (12/20/05)

Janet ran towards the library. She'd overslept, and it looked like no one else had gotten it open yet. She flipped on the lights, unloaded the food from last night's shopping trip with Parker, made sure that no one but library staff could get to the food, and sat down to start eating while she finished up her Classics project.

French bread

Granny Smith and Tulip apples
Belgian Chocolate truffles
Chocolate Marble Cheesecake
Maple Walnut fudge
Wine and champagne (hidden)

"I much prefer blank verse myself, yes," Lee agrees. "Will you be taking advanced poetry in the spring, do you think?"

"I don't think so," Angela admits. "I love Geoff as a friend, but there are so many other things I want to take, y'know?"

"How about you?"

"Not sure yet," he replies thoughtfully. "I like poetry, but I think I prefer writing it over studying it. Plus, there's the whole deal about my father disapproving of me writing poetry...."

"That sucks," Angela says sympathetically. "What does he want you to do instead?"

"Err.... I'm notquite sure. He's usually just saying "don't do that" and not offering up suggestions of what I should be doing," he laughs.

"The whole "whatever you do is wrong" thing? I get that from my mom sometimes. Though she usually has suggestions for what I should do," Angela scowls. "But you should write poetry, if it makes you happy. Seriously."

"Well," and he laughs, "it doesn't make me happy per se, but it's nice."

"Nice is ... nice," Angela says, feeling the champagne rushing to her head.

"Say, is that champagne?" Lee says, now noticing all the food and drink.

"Sparkling cider," Angela says, not sounding completely convincing. "End-of-semester party for the library staff."

"Ah, the staff, very nice," he says with a cheeky grin.
