The Library Is Open - 12/19

Methos looks like he hasn't slept, and possibly has been hit by a 2 x 4 somewhere along the way.

He's working on translating the text that came for him several weeks ago, making notes in a spiral-bound notebook. If you were, say, Daniel Jackson, you might recognize the notes as sort of a bastard Medieval Latin, heavily abbreviated.

Did we mention the not-good-mood?

Jake wandered in after Art, looking for Parker.

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hey, Gavin," Parker said, reaching behind the desk for her gifts (http://www.livejournal.com/users/mparker16/19276.html?view=503116#t503116) for him. "Glad you stopped by, there's goodies for you. Merry Holiday Solstics Hannukah Kwanzaa Christmas thing."

[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Jake raised his eyebrows in surprise then grinned. "Parker, I think I love you. Thank you. These are great!"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Laughing, Parker said, "You're welcome. With as many pencils as you used up drawing me, I thought they'd make an appropriate present."

[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Jake stopped beaming long enough to remember why he'd looked her up in the first place. He put his presents down on her desk and rummaged through his backpack, pulling out a folder. Inside it was a painting (http://pics.livejournal.com/courier_gavin/pic/000dpbb3/g41) and two (http://pics.livejournal.com/courier_gavin/pic/000f7dsq/g41) sketches (http://pics.livejournal.com/courier_gavin/pic/000f0zs0/g41). "For you."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker opened up the folder, then stopped, amazed. "Wow," she said softly, studying the painting, then the sketches. "They're... wonderful. All different, but all me. I didn't expect this. Thank you." Impulsively she leans forward and kisses him on the cheek, beaming, the looking back at her pictures with delight.

Jake beamed back, very pleased indeed. "I'll be using another version of the towel one for the showing, I think."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"When is that going to be? And will it be just for the school, or could townies attend? I have a friend who's been teasing me about this, I'd like him to see the result." Parker shut the folder, being extra-careful not to smudge the sketches. "I'm going to have to get my Gavins framed so I can show them to people when you're famous."

[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Still harshing out the details, since the art prof went... somewhere. He probably deserves what ever is happening to him too," Jake added. He grinned at her care. "I'll be famous in a different dimension, you know. Oooh, those could be worth lots in yours, then. Rarity, you know."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ash disappeared? Hunh. One more evaporating teacher. Can't say I'll miss him, not since that time he hit on me while under the influence of... something." Parker shook her head, smiling. "You're right, different dimension-- I'll be able to tell people it's a mysterious but unknown artist, and tease them that there might be more out there, somewhere. And I'll have the only ones!" she glee'd.

Jake snickered and grabbed his presents again as Angela called out for him. "Sound awesome. I'm glad you liked them, and I'll see you... when I see you, I guess." He waved and walked over to Angela.

"Hi, Jake," Angela calls. "Bet you're relieved to be done with the paper for the semester. You doing it now that Jerusalem is gone?"

[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Jake turned, happily clutching his gifts from Parker. "I... don't know. I mean, I like having minions... but I also like having Sundays."
chasingangela: (over shoulder)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-12-19 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"I was a minion?" Angela says, a small smile crossing her face. "You didn't tell me that, or I so wouldn't have signed up."

"I can see why you guys would want to get your Sundays back, definitely."

[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh you so were," Jake nodded, grinning. He frowned. "I guess you were mostly Chloe's minion though. And, I dunno. It'd be weird being in Journalism without the professor."
chasingangela: (dorky smile)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-12-19 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"See, I can be Chloe's minion. She's a senior and stuff."

She tucks hair behind one ear. "I'm gonna miss him. And that cat. Good teachers leave way too often, in general."

[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"The cat scared the hell out of me, but yeah." Jake paused. "...Dude, I wonder if he remembered to leave our grades with the Dean..."
chasingangela: (scarf)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-12-19 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"The cat was freakish, but it was kind of fun watching it stalk the frogs. Disgusting, but not un-fun."

She rubs her forehead. "I hope he dropped off our grades. I mean, talking to Barbossa was fun and all, but I still kind of wanted to get credit for it. Not to mention the ninety other things he made us write."

[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Jake snorted. "Yeah. Well, I am going to pray to all the gods I can think of, and then I guess we'll see. I mean, he did do his job here and all, but he did go on one hell of a bender, too."
chasingangela: (charms)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-12-20 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
"If he didn't turn them in, everyone gets an A, right?" Angela tries to joke, looking a little anxious. "I mean, that should be, like, the law."

"And yeah, he did his job. Better than some of the other teachers, even. But I'll be praying right with you."

[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"...Again, I have no idea. Me and Krycek were TAs, maybe we could hand out grades if - gods, each and every one of them, forbid - Spider didn't leave any," Jake mused. Then he scowled. "Although I hope not. I am not going through those bloody class tapes again."
chasingangela: (charms)

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-12-20 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Not to mention reading many hundred-word essays from each of us. And counting the words."

Angela shakes her head, more grateful than ever that she hadn't applied for an assistant position.

"But it's like you said, Mr. Jerusalem did his job. I bet he'll email grades to you guys, or something, wherever he is."
