Methos looks around his domain. In less than a month, it's going to be someone else's domain.

He's not quite sure how he feels about that.

Parker's still tired, and swearing about her Spanish paper.

"God, could the day be any *less* bright and cheery?"

"Yes," said Janet. "Trust me, it could. Guess what the news is?"

"Special Collections ate someone else?" Parker suggested. "Or we found a nest of gremlins in the air ducts over the check-out counter?"

"No, those would be funny things," said Janet. "We're being abandoned."

Blinking, Parker said, "Abandoned to what? By whom? And where? If someone's taking me out in the woods and leaving me there, they're in for a funny surprise."

Angela looks at Janet. "You should say it. I don't want to give Parker bad news."

By Professor Pierson. He's leaving us.

Parker's eyes widened. "He's what? Nooo! He can't! We have a system! I like the system! Why is he leaving us, why? Why?"

Because he wants to teach. History. So he's leaving us an' they're gettin' someone else. Who will probably be mean and make us wear blazers. Tweed ones.

"He wants to teach history," said Janet. She sighed. "How are we ever going to manage to break in a new librarian?"

"Dude, Rory and I barely know what to do with the old one yet," Angela points out.

"Oh god, I hope the new person lets us all stay here. It would suck if they decided one aide was enough, or something."

"I suppose we could all get fired," said Janet. "That would be very, very foolish of the new librarian." She paused, then added. "Because we already know the library, and it knows us. Not because we'd make the new librarian suffer. At all."

"Always possible," Parker said to Zero, smirking. Then she turned to Angela.

"They *better* not decide one person is enough. Or if they do, I shall be there taking pictures of the resulting carnage when the new students arrive next semester," Parker said, folding her arms. "History? He want to teach *history*. God. We've spoiled him, that's the problem. He's forgotten what adolescent attention spans *really* are. He's going to be so sorry."

"It's entirely possible," said Janet.

From where he's talking to Marty, John nods at her. "Need to tell you something."

"Rhetorical questions are wasted on the literal-minded. Note to self." Parker walked over and folded her arms, sighing. "Spill."

"Someone got in mine and Angel's room and took something," he says quickly.

Parker frowned. "A break-in? Stupid locks. What did they take?"

"Angel's snowglobe," he tells her.

"Of all the stupid things to take... wait." Parker frowned suddenly, studying John. "Was anything of yours taken? At all?"

"Uh, I don't think so." John frowns at her. "Why?"

"Because if only a something of Wing's was taken, then I have a bad feeling about this," Parker said. "Some magic needs a personal item to work. Damnit."
