The Library (12/09/05)

Having no classes on Fridays, Janet got to the library early, and started working on her independent study for math.

She also posted a sign on the door. "Library Closing At 1:00 PM Today"

Lee comes in, AT LAST THE SWEET HOLY LIBRARY THAT HE HAS MISSED ALL WEEK DUE TO ILLNESS, and finds a book on something terribly political and fascinating, waves at Janet, and revels in being able to concentrate on higher level things and not cough.

Sam made a beeline directly for the desk. "Hey. I don't know about you, but I think I cracked a rib laughing yesterday."

Janet snickered. "God. Wasn't it beautiful? Between the three of us, I think we could wallpaper the room in pictures."

"Best holiday pageant ever." She nodded, grinning. "Between the three of us, I think we should wallpaper the room in pictures. Or at least the hallway outside 238."

Callisto wandered into the library, grabbed a reasonably thick book on warfare, and retreated to a desk up the back of the library.

Janet waved over to Callisto.

*Zero comes in, humming, and starts sorting books for shelving at the Collections Desk.*

"Hey, Zero," said Janet. "How's it going?"

Swerval. I'm mad that I forgot my camera last night, but Parker said there might be videos.

"Sam, Daniel, and I took pictures," said Janet. "So did Charlie and Liz. I didn't see Parker, but I can't imagine her without her camera. We're thinking of having some fun with the pictures."

Rory snuck in, still moving very, very tentatively, and wincing every few steps.

"You feeling okay?" asked Janet, trying not to giggle at the memory of last night's pageant.

Rory looked unhappy, and started ticking things off on her fingers.

"Okay, so first? Hit my head on a light because of those stupid moonshoes and my stupid height. And then? Jaye hit me in the face. And then? Bridge dropped me. And I couldn't get up. Not even when, oh yeah, a really heavy vampire fell on me. And then to top it all off, I fell on top of all my ornaments on one side, and probably still have broken glass in my elbow or something."

She sighed, and grinned. "It was funny though, wasn't it?"

"Helll yes," Parker said as she joined them. "I'm so glad the pirate got the whole thing on tape. Have some Advil."

"Come on behind the desk and let me check out your arm," said Janet. "We have a First Aid kit back here."

She grinned back. "Yeah. It was funny."

Parker came in late, with an armload of books on Tango, and grabbed a seat to study at.
