The Library (12/09/05)

Having no classes on Fridays, Janet got to the library early, and started working on her independent study for math.

She also posted a sign on the door. "Library Closing At 1:00 PM Today"

Lee comes in, AT LAST THE SWEET HOLY LIBRARY THAT HE HAS MISSED ALL WEEK DUE TO ILLNESS, and finds a book on something terribly political and fascinating, waves at Janet, and revels in being able to concentrate on higher level things and not cough.

Draco comes in and begins looking at books on Greek and Roman mythology for his project in Classics.

Janet waves back to Lee, but doesn't want to bother him if he has work to do.

Sam made a beeline directly for the desk. "Hey. I don't know about you, but I think I cracked a rib laughing yesterday."

Janet snickered. "God. Wasn't it beautiful? Between the three of us, I think we could wallpaper the room in pictures."

"Best holiday pageant ever." She nodded, grinning. "Between the three of us, I think we should wallpaper the room in pictures. Or at least the hallway outside 238."

"Why, Sam," said Janet. "That's positively mischevious of you. So, double prints?"

"Thanks, I've been trying to work on it," Sam said. "So, I've got all three rolls of film, that's 72 pictures, plus whatever you, Daniel, Elizabeth, Charlie, and Parker got, since I assume you'll all contribute prints, right?"

Callisto wandered into the library, grabbed a reasonably thick book on warfare, and retreated to a desk up the back of the library.

"They will once they realize what we're going to do," said Janet. "We can send out an e-mail and ask for contributions to the cause."

"Yay." Sam smiled, a bit proud of herself for the idea. Stuff like this was really more O'Neill's area. "So, any idea what this club thing of Parker's is about? I got the e-mail, but it wasn't really clear."

Janet waved over to Callisto.

"Yeah, actually, I talked to Angel about it," said Janet. She shook her head. "He's so different now. I don't get that 'snake staring out from behind the eyes' feeling any more."

"What'd he have to say? I'm still a little confused about why I'm on the list--I'm not exactly superhuman or covert ops trained."

"I know what you mean," Sam said. "He may be a little more uncoordinated than Angelus," she snickered, remembering the dancing and the falling from the rigging thing, "but from what little I've seen, he seems like a real person now, for lack of a better term."

Janet glanced over at Draco, then motioned Sam behind the Collections Desk.

Feeling slightly like she was being allowed on hallowed ground, Sam walked behind the desk.

*Zero comes in, humming, and starts sorting books for shelving at the Collections Desk.*

Janet's bemused look was probably not endearing her to Sam, but it was pretty damn amusing.

"Okay," said Janet softly enough that only Sam could hear. "Apparently he and Parker are trying to put together an anti-JA group." She gave Sam a look. "And don't give me that line. You're a genius astrophysicist. And that's just me getting started on everything you can do."

"Hey, Zero," said Janet. "How's it going?"

Swerval. I'm mad that I forgot my camera last night, but Parker said there might be videos.

"Sam, Daniel, and I took pictures," said Janet. "So did Charlie and Liz. I didn't see Parker, but I can't imagine her without her camera. We're thinking of having some fun with the pictures."

Sam almost stuck her tongue out at Janet, but remembered where she was and decided she didn't want to make the library angry with her.

"An anti...what? Janet, that's nuts." She leaned closer and whispered, "Let Spider and Bristow handle it--it's what they're there for."

"Sure, ask me to handle aliens, wormholes, computers, or explosives, and I'm your girl. Sneaky is really not my thing, Janet, and you know it."

She was with the pirate, in the back.

I really need a new video camera.

"No wonder I didn't see her." Janet snickered. "Daniel was sitting in the back too, but I talked him into moving into the second row so we could sit by Sam."

"You do. Maybe you'll get one for Christmas?"

Maybe. *shrug* So, is anythin' exciting goin' on I should know about? Or is it just Friday?
