Janet stopped in and grabbed her paperwork from the office not-so-coincidentally checking on the package Methos had received. Then switched to the computer behind the Collections Desk, where she continued working on the backlog of orders to be entered.

"How's it going?" Janet asked Methos. "We're taking Rory into Special Collections today."

"Why do I have the sudden feeling that we're in an old war movie, and the next scene will be me writing a letter to Rory's mother about how she is missing in action?"

"Quiet!" exclaimed Janet, glancing warily at the door to Special Collections. "Don't give it any ideas. Besides, Rory's mom teaches here. You knew that, right?"

Methos gave her a look. "Yes, I knew. Honestly, you think I'm so out of touch. How is Rory doing? I know that the library can be... overwhelming, even without the sentient parts."

"Of course I think you're out of touch," said Janet, looking at him innocently. "I think all adults are out of touch. It's a requirement of being a teenager." She snickered. "Seriously, I think she's doing fine. The library seems to be taking it easy on both of them while they get their bearings."

Methos mutters something under his breath. It makes no sense, but the words "apparent age" are heard. "I'm glad to hear that the library is being kind to them."

Janet smiles beatifically at Methos. "So are you ever going to earn your keep with that translation job?" she asks. "Or are you just stringing your old employers along until you can cash the check?"

"Thank Goddess for small favors," Parker said, walking in and taking her usual perch. "Should we go as soon as Zero gets here?"

"Sounds like a good idea," said Janet. "Did we get the shipment with Rory's gloves?"

"Yes. They're under the computer terminal," Parker said, pointing. She grinned as she saw Zero walk in. "And it looks like Dr. Livingstone came prepared."
