The librarian looks roughly like he's been run over by a truck. And not in a fun way.

He is Not In A Good Mood. Wise students will look out.

Angela gives Methos a decidedly skeptical look. "Okay, but ... I don't actually know where anything is, or anything. Should I just write stuff down for you, or what?"

Then, she takes the full measure of the librarian. "You know what? I can totally handle it. I think."

"Hey, Angela," says Janet, shoving her backpack under the Collections Desk and sitting down. "You here for training today?"

"Hey, Janet. I'm supposed to start training, yeah. Dr. Pierson said my first job is dealing with anybody who asks for him, but ... I don't know anything yet, so I'm not sure how to do that."

Elizabeth enters the library at about 11, moving straigt to the Collections Desk, looking serious.

"Where's Dr. Pierson?"

"Hey, Liz," says Janet. "What's wrong?"

"Hey, Janet," Elizabeth smiles at her friend. "I just want to check up on CJ."

"Ms. Cregg? I don't know where she is, but the librarian is in his office, if you want to head back."

Elizabeth smiles at Angela. "Thanks. She wasn't in class today, and when I last saw her, she had left a message on his answer machine, so..."

She smiles at both the other girls, and heads on into the office.

Janet turns to Angela. "You want to handle this one?" she asks. "And for future reference, he's dating CJ and the Doctor. Trust me, you'd have figured it out sooner, rather than later."

"So, the teachers have more interesting sex lives than I do? That's ... okay. Kind of gross, but I'll deal. Thanks for letting me know."

"Everyone has a more interesting sex life than I do," says Janet. "Or at least that's what it feels like sometimes. Don't worry. Bets on whether the Doctor shows up to flirt are pretty foolish, since he's in here nearly every day."

Apparently it's easy to entertain a wolf cub as Cameron is happily playing around with his new tennis ball. He's skidding behind it between tables and bookcases, chasing either the ball or his tail.

The ball suddenly gets away from him and rolls to where Angela and Janet are standing. Not caring, Cameron charges at it, his paws really aren't getting much grip on this floor and the four legs thing works against him so he ends up sliding up against Angela's feet.

Angela leans down. "Heyyy, doggie," she croons, then remembers something she heard on the radio. "Are you Cameron?"

Cameron barks once in reply and gets back to his feet. He runs to pick up the ball and brings it back to Angela.

Angela tosses the ball gently, trying to ensure it won't go -- or send a roving puppy -- too close to the stacks. Or to the librarian.

"We should introduce him to Vladdie," she says.

Cameron runs a bit too enthusiastic behind the ball. He's going to fast and as he tries to slow down, his front and hind legs don't seem to be communicating very well and he tumbles to the ground. The ball comes to a stop against his nose.

Parker wanders in a little late, and tired, then sees Angela and brightens. "Hey! I'm glad you're here, Chase. Give me a minute to get the keys to Special Collections, and we can get the hardest part started."

"COol," Angela says, looking a tiny bit apprehensive. "It won't stick me as a goldfish or anything, will it?"

"You should be fine," says Janet. "The Library is generally fond of us assistant types." She shakes her head. "I'm not asking. You know that's best, right?"

"Sentient library. Check," Angela says, still looking dubious. She laughs a little. "It can't be any weirder than getting hit on by a toaster, right?"

"Nope." Parker grumbles something about the Lifetime channel, then says to Janet, "Tell everyone we'll be in Special Collections (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/406014.html?thread=18957822#t18957822) if they need anything."
