Open Sociology Lab : 11/22

Grissom opens the lab, still exceedingly chipper. He opens the shades and then pulls a boom box out of his bottom desk drawer, and cranks up Houses of the Holy.

He then drags two card tables out at the front of the class room.

One has a display on calculating time of death with blowfly and fleshfly development data.

One has two pies, Pumpkin and Cherry, that he, no shit, baked himself.

Pie, bugs, and Led Zeppelin. He's a happy, happy man.

[OOC: Come stop by! Bug him about anything. I am primed to write some bizarre scientific explanations for unusual phenomena today. What? I had a half day at work, and Passions starts in 20 minutes. *heh*]

Can I have a piece of cherry? *Said casually, leaning against the door.*

She's his cherry pie--oh, I'm going to hell for that.

*She accepts the plate with a smile of thanks.* Going anywhere over the break?

Nothing but the rattle of the office heater. Woe.

*She shakes her head.* My brother does his own thing--we were never big on holidays in my family.

And here I was just planning on stir-fry and rice. *She laughs a bit. Not as nervous as she might have been.* How about we each make our own thing and just eat together?

If by watch you mean mock, then yes, I do. *A wider grin.* Most Thanksgivings, I just watch the parades.

Seems like such a waste of resources, but for some reason I keep watching. My mother liked the parades... *she trails off, happy that she can remember the good times now.*

Angel knocked on the doorframe to the classroom. "Dr. Grissom?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-22 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yessir," Angel said. He took a seat. "I - uh - thought maybe you'd want to see me before the next class session."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-22 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Angel nodded. He looked as though he'd been expecting as much. "Yes."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-22 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Angel folded his hands on the desk in front of him. Anyone looking close would have noticed tension in the grip. Anyone who knew him well, which was precisely nobody at school, would've known it was nerves.

"I - uh - don't know Bris - Dean Bristow's requirements," Angel said, "but if you're not comfortable with me around my classmates I could maybe ask him if there's another way I could fulfill my requirements for the class. Something that would be better for you."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-22 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Angel nodded. His hands didn't move from their position. "Okay. Is - is there work I should be doing? To make up for what I missed?"

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-11-22 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay," Angel said. "Is there a word count?"
