Open Sociology Lab : 11/22

Grissom opens the lab, still exceedingly chipper. He opens the shades and then pulls a boom box out of his bottom desk drawer, and cranks up Houses of the Holy.

He then drags two card tables out at the front of the class room.

One has a display on calculating time of death with blowfly and fleshfly development data.

One has two pies, Pumpkin and Cherry, that he, no shit, baked himself.

Pie, bugs, and Led Zeppelin. He's a happy, happy man.

[OOC: Come stop by! Bug him about anything. I am primed to write some bizarre scientific explanations for unusual phenomena today. What? I had a half day at work, and Passions starts in 20 minutes. *heh*]

She's his cherry pie--oh, I'm going to hell for that.

*She accepts the plate with a smile of thanks.* Going anywhere over the break?

Nothing but the rattle of the office heater. Woe.

*She shakes her head.* My brother does his own thing--we were never big on holidays in my family.

And here I was just planning on stir-fry and rice. *She laughs a bit. Not as nervous as she might have been.* How about we each make our own thing and just eat together?

If by watch you mean mock, then yes, I do. *A wider grin.* Most Thanksgivings, I just watch the parades.

Seems like such a waste of resources, but for some reason I keep watching. My mother liked the parades... *she trails off, happy that she can remember the good times now.*

A better friend than most would give him credit for, *she says contemplatively.* Nicky would tell me he saw me as a sister--but Greg actually follows through with that.

*She chuckles.* I'm sure he was also gloating over the fact that Catherine now owes him $100 due to an outstanding bet.

Same thing I do every year. Curl up with books and try to catch up with my reading. Interspersed with calls to and from family and friends. *She's finished her piece by now and filches another.*

You?

[identity profile] equalsmcsquared.livejournal.com 2005-11-22 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Home with you? *She is a little surprised. Just a little. Okay, a lot. But she is smiling.* Help me with my sign language?

Of course I don't mind. And it would be good to see everyone again. *She has plans. Holiday Plans. With Grissom. Please hold, Sara's mind has been taken over by a fit of girlish glee.*

Only way to figure that out is to do active furniture shopping, i.e., testing the furniture itself, rather than wandering into a store, looking around in a panic, and buying something at random just to get out. *She might be teasing.*

What kind of couch were you thinking? Regular, entertainment, sofabed? Leather, pleather, faux-fur? What colors would you absolutely object to?

*Well, he asked didn't he?*

[identity profile] equalsmcsquared.livejournal.com 2005-11-22 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Best thing to do may be just to go to a furniture outlet and find something. *This is frighteningly domestic. But she's not wearing heels or an apron. Unless asked nicely.*
