Open Sociology Lab : 11/22

Grissom opens the lab, still exceedingly chipper. He opens the shades and then pulls a boom box out of his bottom desk drawer, and cranks up Houses of the Holy.

He then drags two card tables out at the front of the class room.

One has a display on calculating time of death with blowfly and fleshfly development data.

One has two pies, Pumpkin and Cherry, that he, no shit, baked himself.


Pie, bugs, and Led Zeppelin. He's a happy, happy man.


[OOC: Come stop by! Bug him about anything. I am primed to write some bizarre scientific explanations for unusual phenomena today. What? I had a half day at work, and Passions starts in 20 minutes. *heh*]

What kind of couch were you thinking? Regular, entertainment, sofabed? Leather, pleather, faux-fur? What colors would you absolutely object to?

He rolls his eyes, with good humor. Two can play this game.

"Something with a lot of room... for guests. Fabric that won't chafe or stick. Maybe something Scotchguarded."

Best thing to do may be just to go to a furniture outlet and find something. *This is frighteningly domestic. But she's not wearing heels or an apron. Unless asked nicely.*

*She is silent for a moment, finishing her second piece of pie.* That would sort of defeat the purpose of, you know, testing out the furniture beforehand.

"Well, I probably couldn't test the furniture in the store the way I wanted to anyway..."

What he means by that, who knows. He is a scientist, after all. Experimentation is key. *wink*

*She shrugs, keeping her voice casual.* All you have to do is sit down and bounce a few times.

His tone is very dry. "That's not what I read in Cosmopolitan."

I might be addicted to reading the magazine, but that doesn't mean I agree with everything that is printed. *Equally dry.* For some reason, I don't think going blond is a guaranteed way to Keep My Man.

"I think that would be a good assumption," he laughs, glancing at the open door to make sure no one is milling about outside before leaning and and whispering in her ear. "And I like your hair just the way it is. You know, I've always wondered if it was naturally curly, and you straighten it, or if you curl it on occasion, and it's naturally straight."

*She chuckles, bashful.* Naturally curly--it irritates me, so I straighten it. Though in the humidity it's pretty much a lost battle.

He's still casting quick glances at the door, which is silly, but this is quite reckless for him. He touches her hair.

"I like it curly."

He smiles, but almost sadly all of a sudden. "Sara, if this all too fast for you? I know we should... talk, maybe, or... I don't mean to rush you. You don't have to do anything you're not ready for. I'm not going anywhere, I mean that."

Gil! *She holds up a hand, stepping closer to him.* How long have we known each other? Nine years? This would be fast if we'd only been speaking a short time. This...is fine. More than fine.

*Quietly.* I've never spent the holidays with someone--someone who made me happy.

He takes her hand and holds it up to his lips, kissing it softly. "Okay," he says into her knuckles.

Stop worrying about it. Let's just...see what happens. *She chuckles wryly.*

He remembers the line, and smirks devilishly. "Stop worrying about it. Okay, I can do that." He grabs her by the waist and kisses her wildly for a few long moments before pulling away and touching his lips.

"That is some really good pie."

Very good pie. I didn't know you could bake. *She smirks, a wicked twinkle in her eyes.*

He tilts his head and mirrors her expression. "I have many hidden talents, but perhaps this lab isn't the best place to show you them."

Probably not, no. I'd rather not hear about it tomorrow on the radio. *She kisses him again.*
