Parker is very slightly hungover. Plus, she just heard the Dean's announcement.

This would not be a good time to mess with the library aide. She is wondering if Rory and Logan are awake, hoping they're not, and wishing she had her holy water handgun right now as she checks the card catalog for books on magical protection from vampires.

Janet walks into the library, sees Angel being attacked by Zero and Parker griping, and decides she doesn't want to deal with the mess. So she goes behind the Collections Desk and starts drinking her coffee.

Kawalsky returned from the shelves. He glanced at the stand-off between the pink cat, Parker and Angelus.. or Angel, whoever he was.. and instead turned his attention to Janet. He had So You Want To Write An Essay! by Dr Brain, Essay Writing For Dummies and On Writing by Stephen King. "Hey Janet," Charlie said. "Can I get these books out?"

Janet ignores Parker's attempt to slap Angel. Apathy. It's a beautiful thing. Parker had better not try to ban anyone from the library, though, or Janet will have to step in. For that.

"Of course," she says, grinning up at Charlie. "So," she said, checking the books out. "Were you going to say anything?"

He ignored the ruckus going on. "About what?"

Janet yawned. She was a little hung over, and the noise over in the corner was going to make her cranky if it kept up. "Your birthday," she said. "Do you not want to celebrate?" She pulled a gift-wrapped package out of her backpack and handed it to him. "Here. You snuck out too early, or didn't come back, or something, so I couldn't give this to you before classes."

Charlie went to say something as she handed over the gift, but he refrained. "Yeah, I went for a walk last night instead. You didn't have to get me anything, but.." He opened the package and looked at the DVDs. "Thanks Janet."

"You're my friend, Charlie," said Janet, grinning at him. "And you're a good friend. I wanted to get you something. Don't worry. No surprise parties."

"Good," he said a little too quickly, then tried to brush it off. "Jack'll be pissed if we have a party without him." He tucked the books and DVDs into his bag. "I've gotta go, but I'll see you later, okay?"

"Yeah, I understand." Janet resolutely wasn't thinking about her birthday. "Go to class."
