The Library is open (11/21/2005)

Parker is very slightly hungover. Plus, she just heard the Dean's announcement.

This would not be a good time to mess with the library aide. She is wondering if Rory and Logan are awake, hoping they're not, and wishing she had her holy water handgun right now as she checks the card catalog for books on magical protection from vampires.

"How is this punishing him, and not us? Damnit." She pushes a hand through her hair, shaking a little. "You saw him? What was he like? Could you tell if it worked?"

"I don't know. He acted differently and told me to stake him if he ever lost his soul again, but he's been playing the master thespian since he got here so I'm not going to buy his act. Probably ever."

"Fantastic." She crossed her arms. "Lorne, from Caritas? Said he could tell. Something about Manilow. Are you up for dragging the 'new guy'," she used quotemarks around the phrase, "down there this evening? Because I want confirmation. As much as we can get, anyway."

Marty gestures to his wrist and ribs. "I'm not going to be dragging anybody anywhere in this condition. At least unwillingly. If you can convince him to go? I'll come along for the ride. But I'm sure as hell not going to sing with you this time."

"I'd feel a hell of a lot safer if we could transport him in a *cage*, but I suppose that's out. Like I'm going to be talking to him any time soon? I offer it as an option." Parker grimaced. "Please, I'm trying to repress, Blank." She raises her eyebrows at him. "How *are* you feeling, anyway? I'd have thought you'd still be in the clinic."

"I checked myself out, I got a phone call on Sunday that I needed to look into. The painkillers they gave me are pretty good, even if they do make me feel a little loopy. I may have to beg off going to Caritas tonight just so I don't end up talking to myself to get some rest."

"I saw Rory last night. Physically fine. Mentally, kind of messed up. But she's coping, so far." Parker shook her head. "I'm almost sorry we souled the bastard, because right now, I'd much rather torture Angelus than deal with his good twin." She sighed, rubbing her face. "I'm glad you're feeling better. We'll see about Caritas especially since I still have to avoid Jarod for a little while. Maybe he'll lie low and we won't have to deal with him at all today."
