The Library is Open - 11/18

Methos is in a good mood again. There might well be whistling.

The salamander is not whistling. Methos occasionally addresses it by some of the suggested names, but so far it has not responded to any of them.

ETA: Shoved out by Janet, Methos pastes a sign on the door: Now accepting applications for library assistants.

Sam walked into the library, waved to Janet, Parker, Zero, Angela, and Professor Pierson, and sat down at one of the tables. She was shortly surrounded by open quantum physics textbooks, diagrams, and many, many loose pages of notebook paper with equations scribbled on them.

Parker waved to Sam from where she was talking with Angela and Zero.

"Hey, Sam," said Janet, walking over. "How's it going?"

"Avout the same as yeserlay," Sam replied, then took the pencil out of her mouth and tried again. "Oh, hey. About the same as yesterday, unfortunately. I'm having trouble working like this--I need to be able to get up at three am when I have an inspiration without flipping through pages. Plus, having to put my stuff away every time I move? Huge pain in the ass."

"And you? How's today's round of torture the librarian going?"

"Very well, actually," said Janet. "I'm making him hire more library assistants. Zero got stuck alone while I was sick."

She looked down at Sam's work. "The independent study, huh?" Janet sat and pulled out some books to show Sam. "I grabbed some useful-looking stuff the other day. Are you still missing your whiteboards?"

"Oh, that's got to suck," Sam said. "Extra assistants are always a good idea, though, especially around here. Never know what's going to come up."

"Yeah," Sam sighed, as she stuck a pencil behind her ear, "And like you wouldn't believe. Pencils and paper aren't getting the job done." She noticed at what Janet had pulled out and perked up, "Ooh, new books?"

"Like someone being turned into a cat," said Janet. She grinned. "I swear, if the library starts smelling of tuna, I'm rebelling."

"I don't know, I've always been fond of pencil and paper myself. Then again, it's hard to drag a whiteboard into an infirmary and work while you're trying to take care of patients." She nodded. "I grabbed them when they came in. They looked kind of interesting." She held them out to Sam.

OOC: Ugh. I had something to eat that so didn't agree with me. But we had to drive to my parents' house today too. Been offline all day, and Mom's laptop's internet connection is dead. I miss anything good?

Sam wrinkled her nose. "Ugh, tuna. Place will need to be fumigated."

"Oh, thanks," Sam replied, taking the books from Janet and beginning to look through them. "I'm actually thinking of talking to residence affairs and moving out so I have room to do these calculations properly. And if I have a single..."

She blushed. "Well, let's just say that it would be nice to have privacy, in the event that I ever need it for something."
