Library is Open -- 11/7

The librarian is in an exceedingly good mood today, even if he's currently trundling books that still need to be shelved after ~~the Quickening~~ the freak lightning storm that hit the library a week and a half past. Even more surprising, his mood does not seem to be dependant on caffeine, as there is no mug on the Collections Desk since ~~Janet~~ someone broke it.

Not really anything special, except enrollment is closed for the term, and I'm trying to convince Bristow to let her in now...before the new enrollment. and he's being stubborn...and I'm being tenacious. I want this Ad--Dr. Pierson. I tend to get what I want.

[drops his voice to a murmur] I've noticed. [normal tone] So you want a precident for allowing in a student outside of normal enrollment. Have you or any other professors been tutoring her? You could claim that represents a de facto enrollment, and it would be detrimental to her schooling to deny her credit for her work.

She's been working with Ten, I know she's been working on quantum theory independently. Also, she's auditing Tara's Ethics course, so de facto student may be the way to go. And i think she and Geoff..Professor Chaucer may have talked Literature. they are really good friends. [She looks up and down the stacks and then takes a step toward him and murmurs--] You noticed that, hmm?

[raises one arm to rest on the bookshelf in a deceptively casual gesture that is almost -- but not quite -- an embrace, and whispers back] Rather difficult to miss. I'd have to be exceedingly unobservant. And I rather think I share that trait.

[Her voice barely above a whisper, looking into his eyes.] I know you do. I missed you yesterday.

[He smiles at her, this one quite a bit softer than the delighted grin he's been wearing all day.] I'm glad. I missed you to, but I thought that a bit of space would be... useful. We weren't really looking where we lept Saturday night... any of us.

[She presses against him and whispers in his ear.] I knew exactly what I was jumping into, Adam. I want you both. All the time. Can you share?

To say yes would be misleadingly disingenuous. I can share... and I'm quite delighted at the thought of being shared as well. Unless that... bothers you.

[She smiles softly] Not in the least. I've known for a while...if this happened, that's how it would be. As long as..you're ok with it. Sharing. Which you are, I know. So is Ten. [Her hands slide around his waist, and she smiles] So we've all got the basic elementary school skills down, except for coloring within the lines. I've never been very good at that.

[He brings his hands up to cup her face, thumbs running down her neck, refelxively probing for sore muscles to soothe.] Shares, plays well with others. Coloring within the lines is for those with no imagination. Did you paint the sky lavendar and orange instead of blue, as well?

I did..and I called it a sunset. I always thought it was lovely...I enjoy lovely things. [Looking into his eyes, she leans a fraction closer to him, her head tipped slightly to the side.]

I do as well. And brilliant and beautiful. Ms. Cregg, are you trying to seduce me in my library?

I didn't count on having to try Mr. Pierson. Would you like me to put some effort into it?

If you put any effort into it at all, I'll be completely incoherent. I'm near enough to that now. [He leans closer, their lips a breath apart.]

I imagine I could put just a little more effort into it. [She closes the distance, kissing him softly.]

*Parker has her hands over her ears*

*She doesn't want to know.*

*Really.*

*How good is her hearing? Is she a bat?*

*Nope, but she's taking no chances. This is the Library. It could change acoustics at any moment.*

*Awwww. You scared them off.*

[He returns her kiss with the same softness, keeping it somewhere between tenderness and tease. He moves back with reluctance.] I hate to say it, but any minute now one of my assistants is going to 'accidentally' stumble back here and I'll never hear the end of it. Perhaps later in more private surroundings?

[She brings her hand to her mouth, softly brushing her lips.]

You're right...and I'm sure were on camera somewhere.

[drops his forehead to her shoulder, laughing] Gods, I'd forgotten. Closed circuit on Dean Bristow's TV, hmmm? [turns and gives a cheery wave]

[He pulls her forward again. This kiss is brief, but intense. Then he lets her go and steps back.] Might as well make it worth the admission price.

[Her eyebrows rise in surprise, and she clears her throat] Yeah...might as well.

[She licks her lips slowly, staring at him, then turns abruptly and grabs the book she had been looking for.] I need to...research.

Right [he says cheerfully.] Let me know if you need any help with that [the very picture of a helpful librarian]
