Maia came in smiling, her eyes looking tired but she seemed very relaxed. "Hey Tara, quick question about Ethics class. If I don't go to one I can go to the other.. I heard someone say they were the same on Fridays and Mondays and then I realized I overslept this morning and I wanted to make sure I didn't miss class."
Tara laughs. "Monday's class isn't until 2pm, so you haven't missed it. But yes, they're the same Fridays and Mondays. You're only expected to go to one..." she cocks her head, "although I think the Monday class might suit you better, all things considered."
Tara shrugs one shoulder. "Just the personality mix. Friday's class has a lot of big personalities, people who are more inclined to push for a reaction. Monday's class is a calmer discussion - and I'd actually like a few more students in it, to tell you the truth."
Maia smiled "Ok that sounds nice. So.. ok so if I take the monday class, which is this afternoon at 2 then I would have two ethics classes on Mondays? because I won't be in the friday one or is there another day for the monday 2 o'clock class I am sorry I didn't get a syllabus."
Tara laughs. "It's okay, honey. You're just going to one class a week. You've already been to the Friday class this week, which is week 3 of classes, so I'll see you next Monday, from 2-4pm, for week 4. Does that make sense?"
"I need to let you know a few things about me, mainly because I trust you and I think you'd understand." She swallowed. "I told you that I'm a witch, correct?"
Tara can hear the capitalisation in Phoebe's tone, and bites her lip, trying to remember the lore her mother taught her. Finally, she replies, "I'm sorry, Phoebe. I don't know that order."
Xander knocks, then enters with a wave. "Hi, Tara - could I grab you in a completely platonic sense for a second? Sorry I couldn't make it to the escape-from-everybody-else's-parents party, by the way. I kind of holed up in the dorms once I realized the roomie did have his parental unit showing up. Didn't really want to chance running into her."
Xander resists the urge to make inappropriate grabbing gestures - despite the fact that she's... sort of... a Scooby, she's not one of his Scoobies, and besides, she's a teacher. So he just thinks inappropriate grabbing gestures. And possibly telegraphs them with his eyes.
"I was wondering if maybe you had an opening in your Monday ethics class -- my class in Magic, Myth and Manipulation hasn't been formally cancelled, but it hasn't exactly, you know. Met. In a couple of weeks, at least. Which I think means I'm gonna fall under the minimum number of credits if I don't find another class to join." Xander grins, and tries to look harmless. Or innocent, or charming, or possibly just lucky. "I know it sounds like kind of a leap to go from Manipulation to Ethics, but they are kind of related. If you stand on your head." And now that the master/slave thing is over, it actually seems like a safer bet than, say, anything involving math, or requiring talent, which covers most of the still-meeting classes he might manage to talk himself into.
Tara laughs. "Of course you can join, Xander. You've just crept in under Dean Bristow's deadline. You will need to do a little make-up work, but it shouldn't be particularly time consuming, and I'll give you a different assignment later in the semester, once you've found your feet."
Xander glances down at his shoes, then mimes shock. "Oh my god, I didn't even realize they were missing. Do I even want to know what the gremlins are gonna steal next?"
The look on Xander's face is half smile, half confused frown. "That's... kinda weird. In a nice way. I mean, everybody else from Sunnydale may not be from my Sunnydale, but at least I know some version of them. You're the only one who knows me, or, you know, some other me, who I don't know at all."
He scratches his head. "I think I got lost somewhere in there. It was the extra 'you know' that did it."
Laughing, Tara assures him, "it's all the same. Really. We're the same people, no matter where we come from. But I do keep forgetting that you don't remember me. Or, um, know me in the first place to remember me."

Maia's eyebrow raised then. "Why Monday's class?" Maia was curious
