Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

The food? Still there. The school? Still standing. Students? Still mingling.

Ahhhh. What fun this weekend was for us all. WHAT FUN. And this time it was actually the good weather for shirt removing!

"Hullo there," Bod said, draping his arm around her shoulders easily. "Have you had a busy day? I've seen you going to and fro."

"Seven new people on the third floor," she told him, nodding solemnly. "Haaard work."

"You're a very dutiful girl," he said and kissed the side of her head. "How are all those new students looking?"

"Hot?" she joked, chuckling. "I don't know, just... fine, I guess. Some more in denial than others, but they'll come around."

"Hot?" he repeated, shaking his head. "Hotter than I am? Do I have some competition this time? I don't know if I'm prepared for that."

"That was a joke," she replied, reaching to kiss his cheek now. "No one hotter than you. No one, Nobody."

"That's reassuring," he said, laughing quietly. "I've...seen many people but I've only chatted with one or two of them. They seemed overwhelmed but I think that's common. I feel overwhelmed myself sometimes still."

"I don't." Liar. But she wanted to feel light right now. "This one guy, Jim? Promised to help with the party."

"So, I guess that means I can relax and not carry things now?" Bod teased easily. "That's excellent, I was looking forward to doing nothing."

"No no no," Kate replied, shaking her head. Very seriously. Or possibly not. Probably not. "You're still obligated to help too."

"But, you've recruited someone!" Bod said, still laughing. "I thought I'd be pushed aside since I'm an occupant of the fifth floor."

"You asked if you could be an honorary third floorer," Kate pointed out. "It's too late to back out now."

"I don't remember you granting me that wish, though," Bod pointed out. "You just laughed, I think."

"Did I?" Was she expected to remember this stuff? "Well, I'm granting it now, so there."

"And what if I refuse the very distinguished honor?" Bod wondered, glancing over at her. "What if I decide to pass?"

"Why would you?" Kate wondered, answering a question with a question. "I don't see a reason to."

"Well, if you're just offering it to me now instead of when I originally asked, I'm going to think you have ulterior motives," he said very wisely.

"And since when do you care if I have ulterior motives or not?" Yeah, she was just going to keep asking questions, now. "You don't think it'll benefit you anyway?"

"And what sort of benefits would it give to me?" Bod asked, perfectly willing to play this game with her.

"I will love you even more," Kate decided. "Somehow, I'll make that possible."

"You don't love me enough now?" Bod asked, trying to turn her so she was pressed against his front and he could wrap both arms around her.

"I do," she said as she let him move her. Warm boyfriend, mmm. "But I'd love you even more."

"And what does loving me even more entail?" Bod wondered, smiling down at her now.

"No clue," Kate declared happily. "I think that's a mystery for us to explore together, don't you?"

"Perhaps it is," he murmured before leaning down and kissing the tip of her nose. "All right, I will gladly accept my honorary third floor designation. I'm honored."
