Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2011, Saturday Early Evening - Part One!
The ceremony was once again held at sunset for the benefit of the graduates’ less diurnal guests, but the lawn was well-lit with twinkling blue and gold lights draped across bleachers, stage, surrounding trees and specially-assembled trellises, giving the overall effect of a peaceful fairy grove. (Not, say, Las Vegas. Tasteful twinkling lights.)
The staff having taken note of every previous graduation including the most recent, the lights had been purchased from Acme Decorations Studio with a money-back No Coming To Life And Terrorizing Your Party Guests Guarantee... and there was a rather large cache of weapons stashed in a trunk behind the podium. The chance that it would rain toys that could later be used for self-defense was slightly less than the chance that there would be a need for self-defense.
No one could say Fandom High wasn’t a learning experience.

Re: Welcome!
Never mind that she sort of liked that Squall had a single, for time like immediately after dances when they needed a little ... well. Privacy.
Re: Welcome!
How they'd run water and electricity through there was anybody's guess, but, look, maybe they should have thought about that before they graduated.
Re: Welcome!
Having sex in someone else's netherverse really seemed like it'd be a threesome.
Re: Welcome!
Karla was so not going to say that comment aloud!
"Okay, that's probably true," she admitted. "But the squirrels would probably notice if we were keeping all our friends locked in Squall's room or on the sixth floor."
Stupid squirrels.
Re: Welcome!
She could buy bribes in rum.
Re: Welcome!
Excellent! They had a plan! Or, at least, the end of one.
"How to get them up there is the next question."

Err. That was hardly polite. Way to be blunt, Karla.
At least her expression suggested she realized the faux-pas as she said it? Like the way her hand lifted up, almost as if she were trying to catch the words again.
"I mean--Hell's fire. Hi, I'm Karla and I'm tactless."
Re: Welcome!
Re: Welcome!
She offered Claudine a smile. "It'll mean a lot to Sookie to have you here."
Re: Welcome!
Re: Welcome!
Karla hadn't trusted Claudine's intentions then. She still didn't entirely trust them now, but that was just because of Karla's own personal trust issues. That wasn't going to stop her from being everything that was gracious, especially after her failed beginning.
"Shall I let you surprise her, then?" she asked.
Re: Welcome!
Re: Welcome!
And then looked down at her skirt and winced harder. "No, really, I don't. This is...Mother Night, I give up."

Re: Welcome!
In Bon Temps, that totally worked.
Re: Welcome!
Stupid heartfelt gestures. They always got her in trouble.
Beet-red, she glanced over to see who was catcalling. Aaaand, yeah. Jason Stackhouse. She recognized him from the brief time he also attended Fandom. He'd tried to take her usual greeting at face value. "Before you say anything more, I should probably tell you I'm one of Sookie's close friends," she said.
Maybe that would work?
Re: Welcome!
Re: Welcome!
"I already know a version of you," Karla tried instead. "He came to Fandom for a little while. So we're probably good?"
Re: Welcome!
Jason was not really clear on how the many versions of people thing worked, no.
Re: Welcome!
Karla had just imagined explaining temporal mechanics to the Jason she'd known and realized just how futile that would be.
"I don't normally wear skirts this short," she said instead. "I prefer long skirts. Down to my feet. And pants. Lots of pants."
There was even a rule about them!
Re: Welcome!
Re: Welcome!
While she died of embarrassment foreeeever.
"And, uh, thank you?"
