Abnormal Psychology (10-27-05)

The classroom is painted dark green and there are deep red roses all over the room. Some are real, some are silk. Professor Drusilla is sitting at her desk, combing Miss Edith's hair and braiding it, then undoing it and starting all over again.

"No one wanted to discuss last time." Drusilla stares at the students. "Those who don't complete the entire assignment, written and verbal, shall fail. My new teaching assistant is going to introduce himself today.

On the board is written, "Tell me what you think of your parents. Do you like them? Do you dislike them? Did your daddy kill your mummy with a thousand little bites? One hundred words.

And if you don't discuss this time, you'll fail. Do you want to me to fail you and send you to detention?

There is a sign-in sheet on her desk.

There are also notes pinned to the board:

Missing Homework (10/20/05):
Jack Harkness
Jack O'Neill (excused)
Delirium
Illyana Rasputin
Paige Matthews
Sawyer
Bagoas
Boone

Missing Attendance (10/20/05):

Boone
Bagoas

Dropped For Nonattendance:

Londo Mollari
ETA: Boone

OOC: Separate threads forthcoming. Also, as this is posted so late in the day, we'll go through the weekend on class posting.

Oz signs in and finds a seat to work on his essay about his parents. Yeah, like that's an easy topic for him.

[OOC: Boone has been dropped. Just can't keep up with three students and House, and Boone got the axe. I was hoping he'd be adopted, but he didn't. I'm going to drop him officially this weekend]

Duce signs in, gives Paige a completely bland look, and takes a seat by Oz.

[Dru, if scanning: All sorts of nastybad images of things done to lying heretics, including something about a fire. Duce? Not so happy with Paige, but please note that's IC only.]

Roy signs in, happy to have actually found class before it ended, and now convinced that somehow the school has contrived to create a temporal/dimensional barrier or some localized hole in the time-space continuum (he recently discovered sci fi movies, much better than 80s movies) designed solely to keep him from finding his class, much less making it on time. He thinks that it's entirely possible that his weird teacher is in on the conspiracy, but hasn't decided how to ask her about it without suffering a dire and possibly injurious fate-- like being chosen as volunteer for the next class demonstration. As it is, he's just glad to have beaten out Them and made it to class despite Their conspiracy.

"Yo. I'm Cameron Mitchell and I'll be the new teaching assistant for this class. I was in no way whatsoever coerced into doing this. I'm looking forward to working with you all and with Crazy Squid Lady our ever lovely professor Drusilla.

I uh... love F-16s, Thundercats rock and Sunshine likes steak. Any questions?"

Re: ESSAYS - TELL ME ABOUT YOUR MOTHER (AND YOUR FATHER)

[identity profile] addams-daughter.livejournal.com 2005-10-27 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
My parents are very indulgent. Mother tends to play disciplinarian, but my brother and I are often allowed to get away with murder. Father dotes on us both, although we come from a family with many patriarchal traditions. My parents are, unfortunately, prone to outside influence, and often come up with various ways in which they can help us to ‘improve’ ourselves – such as public school and summer camp. Our parents expect certain standards of behavior, but Father tends to be more modern in his thinking than Mother does. It is Father, however, who reminds us constantly of our heritage.

Re: DISCUSSION

[identity profile] addams-daughter.livejournal.com 2005-10-27 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
My parents have always been very important in my life. I should like to aquire the poise and grace of my mother as well as her subtlety and I try to live up to the standards of behavior which she insists upon. I should also like to find a way to express myself as freely as my father does, which leads to a certain amount of internal conflict.
