Hey guys. Today I'm turning over the remote to Carter and she's going to be running the class today.

And *NO* that does mean you get to run amok. (I'm looking at you O'Neill!)

Show her the same respect you do me. Or in O'Neill's case more than you have for me.

Mac hands the remote to Carter and lets her explain today's assignment.

Sam stands in front of the class. She's initially nervous, but after a few moments it becomes apparent that she is used to briefing groups of people has done this before.

"Okay." She glances briefly at Mac. "Today's assignment is really about teamwork more than anything else. Knowing how to work with someone else in a tricky or dangerous situation is just as important as knowing how to get out of it."

"So, the first thing is, I want you to split into pairs."

She signals to Kitty and Mac. A large round mechanical structure is hovering about eighteen inches off the floor. "What you've got here is a touch-sensitive bomb. Simply put, if you touch it on the casing, or the casing touches you (or anything else), you're dead."

"There is a way to defuse the bomb, however. Unfortunately, it's written in code (http://www.history.navy.mil/faqs/faq61-4.htm). You will be responsible for working together to crack the code, which is written underneath the bomb, and then defusing it. This shouldn't take more than one class."

"Oh, and one more thing," Sam said, smiling. "The bomb doesn't stay at a constant height. At random intervals, it will both raise and lower itself."

"Have fun, and come to me with any questions."

After hearing Cally and Anders, Sam blushes profusely, then takes out a handout from her messenger bag. "I am so sorry. It would probably help if I'd given you the key to break the code. She lays the handouts on one of the tables. (http://www.history.navy.mil/faqs/faq61-4.htm)"

"Er, anyone want to pair up?" Rogue has a large glass of iced tea in her hand, trying in vain to look completley awake.

*DEATH, wearing his purple, glittering robes and political misdirectionaction buttons, begins to walk towards the group of students looking for a partner. He is attempting to manuever his scythe with its "ZOMBIES ARE PEOPLE TOO" sign into better position when he suddenly stops, as though he has walked into a wall.

Those that are highly magically/paranormal sensitive notice that the air seems to glow a strange, unearthly color. DEATH pauses, the blue sparks of his eyes flickering. He turns and tries to walk the other way, but hits another wall.*



*DEATH now appears to be surrounded by an octogon of the unearthly light and, for those particularly sensitive, eight shadows can be seen at the corners, chanting and waving their arms in a dramatic fashion.

Figure One: "Is he wearing purple? Why can't I wear purple?"

Figure Two: "Concentrate Bursur. This is serious business."

Figure One: "I just don't understand why, when we go to all this trouble, he feels like he can look unprofessional.

Figure Two: "You do have a point..."

Figure Three: "OOK! OOK!"

All the figures resume chanting as the octogon appears to close in on itself, pulling its occupant into itself.*

Anders carefully edges himself down onto the ground near the bomb, in pushup position, peering at the coded instructions on the bottom as closely as he dares.

As Krycek reads off the code (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/278013.html?thread=13742077#t13742077), Rogue writes it all down. He's careful not to get too close, though it does give him a cramp in his neck from tilting it at an odd angle. When he finishes, he rolls to his back and sits up, smiling at Rogue. "The code shouldn't be too difficult - I've studied it before and the handout's pretty self-explanatory. Should be rather interesting, though."

*carefully reaches over and tugs the purple wire, yanking one end out of the bomb*

*lets go, and wipes the sweat off her brow*

"Anders? Cally? I've got most of the materials ordered in for your Pyramid thing and they are in the supply room. Just don't make out in the supply room. It's too cliche.
