Advanced Driver's Ed, Monday Period Two

Bond had *handwavily* informed his students to come and meet him in the Danger Shop, where he was waiting on a deserted stretch of road beside a sleek, gleaming car.

"Good morning, class," Bond began once the class had assembled. "My name is Professor Bond, and this is Advanced Driver's Education, I would hope you all have the basics of driving down, but given how often paperwork errors crop up if any of you do not actually know how to drive a car, please see my assistant Mr Reese," he nodded in Kyle's direction. "And he'll make arrangements to help you catch up. Normally this class would be where we have introductions but given the relatively small size of the class, and the fact I've taught all but two of you before, I believe we can forgo those and do something a bit more interesting."

He gestured to the car. "This is the Aston Martin DBS," Bond explained, pausing a moment to let them admire the car. He pressed a control and it began raining. "This is a road in the rain. Over the course of this class you will gain an intense appreciation for working breaks, and you will start by taking this car, driving as fast as you can, and then trying to stop without spinning off the road. With one of your fellow students a passenger. Thanks to the safety protocols, no harm will come to any of you in here, but if you attempt this out in the real world you will most likely die. Horribly."

He grinned and clapped his hands together. "So who wants to go first."

When Mr. Bond referred everyone to him for basic driving lessons, Kyle gave everyone a nod and a small wave to identify himself. He figured if anyone needed to catch-up, he could bring them up to speed pretty fast.

No one had ever let Nico drive before, but he could not have been more excited for this class and for Professor Bond letting him maybe crash a really hot car.

Nico was as close to bouncing as a son of Hades could get.

Bod was suddenly grateful he'd taken a few lessons in driving while he'd been back in England. It had seemed the intelligent thing to do even if he'd been rather bad at it for awhile.

So, with the knowledge that he at least had the basics (he'd read the driver's education book three times), he admired the car and listened to Professor Bond speak.

The car was no '69 Charger, but it still was SU-WEEET!!!

Unfortunately, it made Hank miss the part where Bond asked if anyone didn't know how to drive.

"If anyone wants to take a chance with me behind the wheel, I'll return the favor." With that, he opened the door and sat in the driver's seat.

"I'll take the chance," Bod decided, sliding into the passenger seat next to Kyle. He'd taken riskier chances in his opinion so there was no hesitation about riding with Kyle. "And I'll return the favor as well."

"Let's hope," Kyle said as he turned the key and started the car, "that the brakes work and this isn't one of Mr. Bond's life lessons." He didn't give Bod much of a chance to back out since he put it into gear and slammed his foot down on the accelerator.

Hank slid behind the wheel and started poking at all the buttons. "Oh, boy! Does this thing have afterburners? Or an ejection seat?!"

Nico was totally watching the others, needing a few tips on how this whole thing worked. Yes, his car was going to crash. Terribly. At least Danger Shop deaths weren't real.

Following his TAly duties, Kyle hung around after the class was done. "If anyone does need to learn the basics, I'm free for most of the week. I'm in room 511 if you want to come by later if you change your mind."
