Okay, so Jono was a little late getting himself into the library today for his shift, what with having to travel back from Vail and all, but he showed up as soon as possible, considering.

So soon, in fact, that he still had his bag of laundry and his guitar with him, both of which were sitting behind the desk while he set to work, re-shelving books and silently, very silently, chuckling to himself.

Once again, it looked as though he'd gotten off easy today, didn't it?

//Luck of th'draw, I imagine,// Jono mused, shrugging. //When people were turning into other people, it left me alone then, too.//

He suspected that his inability to carry a pair of breasts around probably had something to do with it. There was hardly any opportunity for proper trauma, that way. Why waste the effort?

"Does it have anything to do with your abilities?" He wasn't allowed to mention things thanks to John. Sigh.

This was Jono's wary look. Sherlock was probably starting to know it well, by now.

//I can't imagine so,// he replied. //It's messed about with me before, too, of course.//

It just hadn't decided to give him boobies.

"How can you be sure?" Said the man who DID get boobies.

//Because there are other people who don't talk into people's heads who haven't changed as well,// Jono pointed out, crossing his arms over his chest. //Assuming that it's something t'do with what I can do would be bloody ridiculous, in that light.//

"Yes, but that's clearly just a secondary part of it." Clearly, Jono. Clearly.

//... Lucky bloody me.//

Really. Could Sherlock see how thrilled that Jonothon was?

Sherlock stared for a moment. "Is this another of those bad things then?" John needed to make him a list. "I thought it was just the food issue."

//No, it's--// Jono narrowed his eyebrows, biting that flaming psionic tongue of his before he could go off on one of his rants. There were some people that he had decided firmly that he should never rant to. Sherlock was one of them, absolutely. //Actually, if this is a side-effect of th'rest of it, I think I'll cope. I can't imagine there's anything remotely comfortable about waking up suddenly and inexplicably female.//

"It does upset the center of gravity." Yeah, that was really the concerning part.

//Yes, there's that.//

Jono didn't really have much of a centre of gravity left to upset. Funny thing, that.

//Something to get used to, I suppose.//

Sherlock gave him another look before turning back toward the stacks. "History of this on the island then."

//You'd think we'd have an entire section set aside just for th'strange things that go on around here,// Jono mused, shaking his head and stepping around his guitar case as he made his way out from behind the desk. //Yer best bet is probably still with the periodicals. Or perhaps th'radio station keeps records of their old broadcasts. That might be just as useful.//

"Nothing online?" Eesh. Way to be in the past, library.

//... That's a good question.//

Sherlock, meet a guy whose knowledge of the internet began and ended with Farmville.

"You don't know?" OH GOD, HOW?

Jono shrugged faintly.

//I have a funny way of always clicking my way to websites that I never wanted to see in the first place.//

Even when he didn't want to look at internet porn. It was everywhere!

Sherlock was just going to stare now. "You're not joking. Dear god, how do you even function?"

//... Somehow, th'world managed to get on just fine before the advent of the world wide web functioning in speeds that actually made it worth bothering with at all,// Jono intoned, glowering. Just a bit. //I know, it's difficult to fathom, but we somehow survived back in th'dark ages of th'mid nineties.//

"...you didn't have the advances we do now back in the 90s," Sherlock replied like Jono should have known this. "But you have them here. Not learning to use them is just lazy."

//I made the attempt. But really, I haven't had any need for it. Until, apparently, right this very minute.//

Which meant that there wasn't really any excuse for not learning how to surf the web at right this very minute, he was well aware.

//But anything that can be looked up on the internet here can probably be looked up from any other computer. Books are my job, Holmes. Hard copy reading material.//

"Boring." Yes, that was a logical response. "You might want to suggest uploading some of your books then."

//... Uploading?//

Yep. He was completely a lost cause.

//Why?//

Sherlock frowned like a frowny thing that frowns. "My god, you really are this dim."

//Mmm, yes, thank you,// Jono replied, dryly. //Now, perhaps you could be so kind as to educate me, me and my computer illiterate neanderthal ways.//
