Ethics [Thursday, October 7th, 2nd period]

The Danger Shop had been transformed into a different world when the Ethics class arrived: An incredibly dry, hot one which smelled really bad.

Anakin waved his hand around the room. "Welcome to the embodiment of gluttony," he said, "the palace of a Hutt."

He concentrated on the controls on the far side of the room, and the simulation sprung to life: dozens of beings of all shapes, sizes, and degrees of cleaniless (ranging from 'casual acquaintance with soap' to 'water is eeeeeevil') drinking, eating, and dancing. All activity centered around a slug of a beast laying on a raised dais (not that it really had many other options for range of motion) at the front of the room.

"That," Anakin said, nose wrinkling in disgust as he pointed, "is a Hutt. This particular version is named Jabba, and is one of the most powerful crime lords in the galaxy." Or was, but he wouldn't exactly be mentioned what happened to Jabba with Leia running around Fandom. "Today is an interactive experience for you. Take a good hard look around. See the effects that gluttony can have."

Rosalind was no stranger to dirty places, it was true. This, however, was another level of filth and she was not best pleased.

Not that it changed her expression much to be entirely honest. Cool blue-green eyes were narrowed as she studied the locale.

Even though she knew it was all simulated, Medusalith wasn't touching anything, which meant her hair was behaving a touch more unusually than she usually allowed it to--it suddenly seemed to be a bit shorter to stay definitively clear of the floor, and was shifting around obstacles.

She was still going to have to scrub herself when she got out of here. Ugh.

Scully now wanted to leave, take a shower, eat a salad, exercise vigorously, and possibly enter a convent.

Ugh.

Someone had neglected to inform William that animalification was generally considered an acceptable excuse for missing class, because, well. Here he was. Looking utterly miserable because his puppy nose was interpreting all of the smells of this place as real, despite the fact that it was just a simulation.

[ooc: I am afk but the boy's enough of a nerd that he'd make it to class despite puppy status, so here he is.]

Cara carefully schooled her features into bored blankness. She'd been worse places than this, but that didn't mean she wasn't glad for the fact nearly every square inch of her skin was covered in leather.

Elphaba's nose seemed permanently wrinkled today. She wasn't good at hiding her disdain for things. And here, she was downright disgusted.

It would not be an understatement to say that Cassidy was horrified that someone or something could actually live in conditions such as this. Yes, she understood what simulations were now, but she still had a shield around her to keep from touching anything.

"Whoa, paging Mr. Clean, stat," Kennedy muttered, twisting sideways a little to keep her elbow from brushing a particularly gross-looking patch of wall. Or... she thought it was wall.

God, she hoped.

Jason had seen slums that were cleaner than this place, so he was definitely keeping his hands to himself and not touching anything.

Moments like these made Zatanna want to actually hear more of Anakin's complicated reasoning.

Just what did Jabba eat? Anyone that looked him in a funny way?

Dear lord. And Jono thought that his room was a mess.

...

Actually, no, his room was still worse than this. It was probably time for him to do laundry, actually.

Okay, she'd looked around, this was gross, Medusalith was ready to leave now. And possibly burn these shoes. But class wasn't over, was it? Damnation.

Also? She was holding a puppy.

The music was amusing.

Yeah, that was all Scully had. Everything else was just so, so, so non-sterile.

Cara quickly found a spot that where she could keep an eye on as many exits as possible and leant back against the wall.

Simulation or no, her palms itched for her agiels.

The one thing Elphaba liked about this place was the variety of creatures, all shapes and sizes and colors. Here, she wasn't the odd one.

But that was the extent of it, as otherwise the place bothered her.
furnaceface: (Told you so)

Yes, yes, Jono was well aware that he probably should have been absorbing some sort of great life lesson by looking around this den of glut and debauchery and all of that.

... But there was a band. Really, he couldn't possibly be expected to look around if there was live entertainment, could he?

He was standing not far from the source of the music, tapping his foot in time. It wasn't anything he was used to, but he liked it.

Squall hung out and just... watched people. Warily. He had a pretty good feeling that almost everyone in the room was dangerous, even if they were simulated, and he didn't have a weapon handy.

Re: Talk to Jabba [10/7]

[identity profile] talks-backwards.livejournal.com 2010-10-07 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
He was just too big -and Zatanna just too curious- to be ignored. Still, Zatanna had no idea of what to say to someone -something- like Jabba. 'Please don't eat me' might actually make things worst.

"So...nice place you got yourself." She was so getting into that rancor pit.

Cassidy had finally decided that staying in one place and exploring from a distance was a good plan.
