Library [09/26]

There was music in the library today. It wasn't the same, loud, pervasive music that Jonothon normally opted to, however. Today it was almost like a whisper of music. Like a hundred little voices all joining together in song.

... Or, more accurately, the rustling of the pages of every book on the subject of music in the entire library, all rising up in glorious, but quiet, harmony.

They'd just finished Sound of Silence, and were moving on with Scarborough Fair when Jono came in, levelled that aisle with a look, and then shook his head and set to work shelving things. Occasionally, things that were singing at him.

Ah, Fandom.

[Open! And listening to Simon and Garfunkel.]

"Good." Or magic, really, after they stopped talking. "Did you sign up for Gun Club on Friday?"

"No," Rosalind replied, with a glance at her. "Triela is not competent enough to run it. I will not support her."

Rosalind, erm, had her own opinions on things.

Scully's eyebrows went up in surprise. "What did you disagree with her about?"

"Her inability to utilize proper and reasonable judgment to remain off the range upon being afflicted with an illness," Rosalind said crisply. "Someone who does not care for their proper safety is a poor choice to teach and supervise others about their weapons."

Scully's eyebrows drew down in consideration, running her encounter with Triela at the gun range when she wasn't feeling well through her mind. "She was that badly off?"

"She could barely stand," Rosalind replied, "her hands were shaking uncontrollably and she was not in an state to be on a range with a live weapon. Both a danger to herself and to anyone who might have stopped by."

Scully sat back, unable to disagree with her assessment of Triela in that case, then sighed. "All the more reason to go and keep an eye on things. At least, from my standpoint."

"Perhaps," she allowed, "though I doubt she'd have cared for my presence in any case."

Rosalind did... not mince words when she felt someone was being an idiot.

Scully sent her a swift look of understanding, then settled for a mild, "It happens. Have you signed up for anything else?"

"None of them appealed to me," she replied, as she was unaware that Jono had signed her up for the Apathy Club. "Did you sign up for anything besides the Gun Club?"

"No. Although I'm re-considering the Parkour Club, and working on running with other people," Scully said, tilting her head. "It might be more enjoyable to do that once a while."

"I trust I am on that list?" she said, lifting one eyebrow. "Are clubs still allowing sign-ups?"

"Of course," Scully said, smiling slightly. "And -- I don't know. I suppose I'll find out, if I show up and it's not approved."

"If not," she replied, "perhaps you can look into some of it on your own anyway, no?"

"True enough," Scully admitted, putting her glasses on. And swear in Russian the whole way.
