Library [09/26]

There was music in the library today. It wasn't the same, loud, pervasive music that Jonothon normally opted to, however. Today it was almost like a whisper of music. Like a hundred little voices all joining together in song.

... Or, more accurately, the rustling of the pages of every book on the subject of music in the entire library, all rising up in glorious, but quiet, harmony.

They'd just finished Sound of Silence, and were moving on with Scarborough Fair when Jono came in, levelled that aisle with a look, and then shook his head and set to work shelving things. Occasionally, things that were singing at him.

Ah, Fandom.

[Open! And listening to Simon and Garfunkel.]

"breaking my heart ... shaking my confidence daily," Henry sang softly as he came into the library, then cocked his head. "Morning," he said, wandering over to the coffeemaker. "So. Singing books today?"

Watch, he'd sound casual about that. Or try.

Hey, I like Scarborough Fair.

In fact, I have five covers of it. :D

"Singing books today, criticizing onions yesterday," Henry said. "Tomorrow there will have to be dancing shoes to complete the trifecta."

He slurped his coffee. "Like you said, could be worse."

Raven had two reasons to come to the library today -- personal and "professional." But the personal was much more pleasing. "Good morning, Jono," she said cheerfully.

My music collection is so weird. I think having a cover of Sisters of Mercy doing ABBA probably about sums it up. ;)

Don't I still owe you some Apocalyptica btw?

"Today has been quite nice, but yesterday I managed to make some unpleasant onions recognize that their behavior was the result of their own self-esteem issues," Raven said. "I think they feel better about themselves now and will cease to harass others." Only in Fandom.

"Well, it was fortunate that I had spent much time in meditation for the past few days," Raven said. "I was able to keep better control of my emotions when they attempted to insult me. But after meeting Professor Sherlock last Tuesday, I was better prepared for such things."

The onions were actually nicer.

I think I have just about all their stuff. I'll poke you about it later this evening. :D I'm at work right now and then I'm being dragged out for a Greek food festival this afternoon, mmm.

"He was extremely unpleasant," Raven said, frowning despite her resolve not to let him get to her anymore. "He attempted to provoke my emotions, even after I attempted to warn him that such a thing could be dangerous. It only seemed to encourage him."

"But his observations are not entirely correct, though he seems to refuse to believe that could be the case," Raven said.

Denial and Raven were very close friends. But she was also saddened by Sherlock's lack of belief in the beauty of the human soul.
