So You Say You Want a Revolution: Week 4, Period 3

Aly had handwavily notified students that today's class was in the Danger Room and to wear clothes that could get dirty. She thought she was being awfully nice with that warning. When the students entered the room, they would see that it was set up with a series of obstacles and a high ropes course. There was a 50 foot high cliff set up with ropes and harnesses at one end of the room and ropes crisscrossed the ceiling, ending in a zip line back to the floor. On the floor there was a mud pit, cable walk, and other moddable obstacles.

Aly stood at the edge of the obstacles and waited for everyone to arrive. "Okay, guys, over the last few weeks, we've talked about how to recruit others to your side. This week, we're going to work with the people we already have - your group of classmates. This course-" she gestured across the room "-is full of obstacles that you'll need to work together to get over." She grinned a little. "Yeah, you're Fandom students so most of you probably can get over every single one on your own using sheer determination if not magic, but that's not the point."

"When you're fighting a revolution, your life is in the hands of the other people in your pack. They screw up? You'll probably end up hurt or imprisoned or dead with them. Today's stakes aren't nearly as high." She grinned. "So have some fun."

Now this class was more to Luke's speed, seeing as he was the demigod equivalent to the high school jock. If only life was filled with gym classes.

Elphaba was not really dressed for this. Oz fashion (not that Elphaba was subject to the whims of high fashion, but simply what was considered proper dress) hadn't branched into the equalification of the sexes, and she was left in an old long navy dress that would not be useful for such activities. She was prepared for dirt, but not prepared for ropes.

She frowned mightily. And wished she owned a pair of trousers.

Call him pessimistic -him?-, but Cloud was already wondering how many times he was going to fall face first to the ground. Good thing he had a thing for getting hit and making it alive, but still, he would like to pass the obstacles without the embarrassment.

When you get there, Aly will give you a quick handwavy lesson on how to belay a climber (http://www.princeton.edu/~oa/climb/belaywal.shtml). One person climbs, one belays then swap. It's a trust thing.

The Perch

The Perch (http://www.adventureassoc.com/grahics/tbcustom/CC-tower.jpg) – One team member climbs to the top of a 30 foot tree where they stand up on top of the tree and jump for a trapeze bar hanging about three feet away. Then WHEEEEEEE zip line to the ground again.

Ino was contemplating the courses and coming to the conclusion that, really, on her own they weren't much. The addition of a group totally made this class more interesting.

Percy had his arms crossed while he peered up at the ropes course, thinking of the best way to course it quickly and efficiently. He really didn't wanna be the only TA to fall or something. That'd just be embarrassing.
