Shop Class #3

Mac is sitting in his chair as the students file in.

"I hope you remembered your homework today, because that's the only way you are going to pass today's assignment."

[OOC: You were to come up with a method of making a smokescreen. Please post your responses in my comment(s) below]</small]

Illyana looked at her list. She would need chalk dust, a low velocity fan and a few industrial flares.

"I need pool chlorine and nonsilicone brake fluid, a bucket and a cup."

When these are produced, Han mixes two measures of the chlorine and three of the brake fluid in the bucket. Thick, black noxious smoke roils out.

"Don't breathe it," he warns, studying the laser pattern. In a few seconds he has the safe route planned and is through to the table.

"I need some dry ice and either a plastic cooler or a Pyrex glass container, a piece of black paper, a piece of cardboard, and some rubbing alcohol."

"I'm going to need a big bottle of baby powder (unscented, because I'm allergic to the scented stuff) and a fan." She gives Mac a little smile and a shrug. "It's not high tech, but it works."

When the items appear, she shoots the baby powder into the air in front of the fan, and the white cloud exposes the lasers. After a moment, and another puff of powder, she wiggles her way through to the other side, covered in white powder. "Didn't think about that," she mutters as she pick up a twinkie.

Anders scratches his head, a little bit disappointed that Rogue and Illyana had already pretty much used the method he’d come up with. (Low-concept, admittedly, but his recent obsession with baseball had led him to end up focused entirely on chalk dust for this project.)

“I’m gonna need chalk dust, a lot of it, and one of those baseball pitching machines where you feed the ball in behind the wheel.”

John gives the MulletMaster a list of ingredients from here (http://www.totse.com/en/bad_ideas/ka_fucking_boom/theultim.html)

"If this was all we needed them for, I could just get by with a spray bottle."

"So we didn't need to make our own?" He fiddles with a pocket.

Surveying the hallway, Krycek smirked a little. "I need a bag of flour and a Megazooka (http://www.thinkgeek.com/cubegoodies/toys/729d/)."

When the items appeared, he broke open the bag and used the air-blaster to shoot flour down the hallway, the lasers shining dimly through the white powder. The hall resembled a winter wonderland when he was through and he maneuvered through the laser field carefully, ending up on the other side to claim a package of HoHos. "Haven't had these in a while," he said, grinning.

[ooc: So sorry, I thought I'd commented earlier today.]

I'm gonna need sugar, salt peter, a pot, and some matches.

Oh, and I'm gonna need something to heat some stuff up with, like, a low flame from a bunsen burner or stove or something.

*stares at the toaster for a few seconds*

Ummm, sir? This isn't exactly what I meant.

[Considers assignment, tapping pen on his lips for a minute. Because he's so slow on the crutches, he decides to try something he once saw on t.v.]

I need a can of aerisol hair spray.

[waits for it to be produced]

[Sprays about a foot and a half in front of him, locates first beam, manuevers around it, careful to make sure the crutches clear it. Sprays again, gets around second beam... repeats ad nauseum.]

Tuesday Afternoon, Danger Shop

Sam is standing in the hallway, having trundled a very dilapidated motorcycle (http://www.walnecks.com/search/detail.cfm?ID=79438828) to the school from the junkyard in town. She is waiting for someone to open the door, so she can put it in the storage closet.

"Thanks." She wheeled the bike in beside her. "I really appreciate this."

Jack looks a little sheepish. "I... actually came up with the same thing as Rogue. Should I do my run-through or do you want me to try something else?"
