Detention! - The Danger Shop, Sunday Morning

Because the danger shop was available for teachers to use, Deadpool was gonna abuse that privilege aaaaall the time. Which would be why it was now made up to look like a daycare center from maybe a recent movie about toys. Maybe.

"You both know why you're here," Deadpool informed them. "So, get to work with the kids. And give me the carburetor back before I give Jan enough sugar to let her run a marathon."

Juliet was sitting in the room with a mechanical bongo that played the most irritating calypso music ever, beating on it and screaming along happily.

She was also a half-hour past her normal nap time, so welcome to your very own ticking baby time-bomb, kids!

"What have we here?" Will knelt down so he was closer to Juliet's level. The question wasn't said in that high-pitched "talking to babies" tone. No, it was said in the "what is that drum thing and can I take it apart?" tone.

"Mine," Juliet said, holding onto it more tightly.

"I can see that," William said seriously. "How does it make that noise?"

Juliet stared up at him solemnly, then smacked the drum with her little fist. "There!"

"Ah yes, very good," Will nodded. "Is it a- battery? Or does it wind up somehow?" Because she'd know.

Juliet was Anakin's daughter, which was why the first thing she did with every toy was flip it over and look for the power source.

She turned the drum over now and pointed to the battery's location, which was kept closed with a plastic cover, a tiny screw, and about a pound of tape.

"Stuck," she said sadly.

"That's too bad," William said, reaching out to pat her on the shoulder sympathetically.

She whipped the bongo up dangerously close to his chin. "Stuck!" she insisted.

Maybe this Very Nice Man would un-stick it for her! She was sure that batteries were very delicious, but no one would let her find out!

"Should I try and get it out, then?"

Look, William was Victorian. As far as he was concerned, children were just tiny adults and thus would be talked to as such.

"Peas," she said, adding in an adorable chin wibble.

Grown ups were suckers for the wibbly chin.

Not the wibbly chin!

Yeah, William was hard at work peeling off that tape now. Whipped. So whipped. After knowing her for what, ten minutes?

"Mine," she reminded him. In case he had some kind of notion of stealing the bongo or her delicious battery.

Tape was interesting, though, so she'd just take that and play with it for a moment. Sticky things were fun!

"Oh, wow!" Ariel couldn't help giggling at the most awesome calypso music ever being pounded out by this totally rocking kid. "You're really good at that! You should come play for Jono and join his band. Yes, you're so good. Widdle good widdle dwummer, yes!"

"Drum!" Juliet echoed happily, then added a "MINE!" for good measure. You know, just in case.

"Oh, no, no, no," said Ariel, giggling again, because, seriously, how cute was this kid? Quite possibly the cutest ever. Except maybe that other one. They were both the cutest kids ever, clearly. "I wouldn't dream of it. I'm not much of a drummer myself. I'm more of a singer. Would you like to hear a song? And play along on the drum? I know a good one that's very similar to that great calypso beat."

"Sing!" Juliet demanded, beating on the drum some more.

Giggling still, Ariel nodded with an attempt to at least look as if this was all very serious and grave and important. "Yes, ma'am! You ready?"

Ariel gave Juliet the chance to lead her in with her clearly awesome drumming before she started in with a song she remembered Sebastian having her sing with him once (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7GmuhXXZQk). One of the ones that didn't suck.

And of course there was appropriate sitting calypso dancing to go along with it.

Juliet got about halfway through the song before she started wailing.

"Oh."

Well, that was unexpected.

"Er, how about this one?"

Because who didn't love a song about being under da sea (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgA2xo0HYrE)? It was practically a classic.

"NO SING NO SING!" Juliet cried, beating on the drum.

And, being a Force-strong toddler, making a chair bounce up and down through the air.

"Okay, okay!" Ariel held up her hands in defeat. "No sing, promise. If you don't want to sing, what would you like to do instead? Just play?"

Juliet sniffled. "Sing?" she said, then began: "A B D F J L..."

"Awww." ADORABLE. "That was really close, you almost got it!"

"You!" Juliet demanded. "A B D D F J J L--"
