Library [05/26]

Scout had woken Sam up way, way too early this morning, so Sam intended to have a lazy kind of day in the library today. He settled in at the computer with the biggest cup of coffee he could get from the Perk, and started running virus checks and updates to make sure everything was running as well as it could. It was kind of like cleaning, except that he got to sit and check his e-mail while he was doing it.

"Hey, you're the one who brought up being sued, not me," Sam pointed out. "I know that almost everyone here has considered it an honor."

"As they should. Anyway, I don't have to worry about being sued anymore. I used to nail the people that worked in the hotel, but that was years ago," he said. "Oh, and some of my au pairs, but I maintain they seduced me."

"You didn't," Sam said, staring at Chuck. "Weren't you like, young when you had au pairs?"

"I was young when I lost my virginity," Chuck said. "It's not as bad as you think; they were European. They do things differently over there. Besides, I'm very mature for my age."

"But...that's so illegal," Sam said, like that meant anything in the Bass world.

"Oh like you never broke the law before," Chuck said, rolling his eyes.

"Not when it comes to sex," Sam said, thinking for a moment before nodding, because he had to mentally check.

"Have you or have you not had sex in this library?" he asked.

Sam squirmed. "I have. But it was after hours so we weren't disturbing anyone."

"I'm sure it was still breaking a trespassing law or two," Chuck said. "It's no big deal."

"You don't think it's wrong that you were seduced at a young age?" Sam asked, genuinely curious.

"Do you think anybody is capable of making me do what I don't want to, even when I was younger?" Chuck asked. "It's not like I didn't want it and, trust me, the au pairs were way more healthy for me than the girl I lost my virginity to."

"I don't know, you might have been different when you were younger," Sam said. "I guess if you don't regret it..."

"Don't worry, I don't," he said. "But I appreciate you being so concerned, even if you do sound like a girl."

"I do not sound like a girl," Sam said, rolling his eyes. "I sound like someone worried about your childish virtue."

"It's a bit late to be worried about that, don't you think?"

"It's not too late for me to want to make sure you didn't get screwed up as a kid," Sam said. "I guess that explains why you're so relaxed about sex though."

"You think that's it?" he asked. "I thought it was because I don't see the point in being uptight about something everybody else on the whole planet does."

"And you've had a lot longer to get used to it, and done it more often. I don't think anyone can be uptight about sex if they do it enough. Believe it or not, I'm actually less uptight about it than I used to be."

"You shouldn't have been uptight about it in the first place," Chuck said. "But that's not your fault, it's some weird society thing. I was just lucky enough to be born without any sense of shame. Or, well, I was born with it but I get a...let's just say I get a kick out of it."

Sam was dirty, but he wasn't quite that dirty. "What do you mean?" he asked.

"You're gonna think this is so wrong, I know," Chuck said. And, boy, did he love that. "But shame kind of, you know, turns me on."

Sam stared for a moment, trying to let that compute, but it just wasn't working. "You like it when people are ashamed of you?"

Chuck gave Sam a look that clearly said 'you are totally going to regret asking about this' because he totally was.

"I like it when people look at me like I should be ashamed about the things I do. Like, okay, when people think I'm slutty. I like that," Chuck said. "I mean, that's why I pick, uh, more dominant people to sleep with. They boss me around and kind of...you know...put me in my place."

Yeah, Sam was pretty sure he regretted asking, as he felt like he couldn't stop staring. "Oh. Oh," he said, trying to find words when all he could do was turn red. "I've, uh, read things like that, but I didn't think people actually...I didn't know you could actually feel that way."
