Dating, Hooking Up and Sex, Class 1, Friday period 3

Dean was leaning against the desk at the front of the room as he watched all the students file in.

"Hey guys," he said once everyone was seated. "Welcome to All You've Ever Wanted to Know About Dating, Hooking Up and Sex But Were Afraid to Ask. I'm Dean Winchester, the guy teaching it. Call me Dean; if you start calling me Mr. Winchester, I'm going to look to see if my Dad's back from his hunt and standing behind me.

"This workshop is about what it's titled -- I believe in truth in advertising," Dean said with a grin. "We're going to discuss, sex, and dating and hooking up, and how sometimes those things can be different on Fandom." He gestured at the board where he'd written out his planned syllabus. "That's pretty much how I'm planning on covering the subject matter, but I'm flexible. If something happens that is related to what we're talking about, we can discuss it in class here. Also, if you ever have any questions, ask. That's what I'm here for. Or if not me, you can ask one of the TA's," he added gesturing at Sammy and Chuck, "though they'll probably give you diametrically opposed answers. As for me, well, I'll try and always tell you exactly how I see things."

He got up and began a sort of slow pace in front of the class. "My first term as a student here, I took sex ed. The teacher was a bonifide professional -- ran the brothel in town and everything. I got a lot out of that class, even if I did end up being nicknamed Muskrat for a while.

"Now, I make no bones about not being a professional in this area," he continued. "But I will claim to be at least a talented amateur. More than that, I went to school here for three years which means if anyone knows what kind of stuff Fandom can throw at you, it would be me. And yeah, it's always a buttload of weird, but that doesn't mean it's always bad. I've had some awesome encounters that I'd never would have been able to have anywhere else. Really, if you keep an open mind, you can leave here with experiences that are truly once in a lifetime opportunities. And we're going to discuss making the most of them once we get the basics out of the way."

Dean stopped pacing and went back to leaning on his desk. "So that's the overview, now on to the introductions. We're going to go around the room, and everyone is going to give their name, how long they've been on Fandom, what sort of experience they have with the class subject, and what you hope to get out of class."

He looked around with a shit eating grin. "So who wants to start?"

"Uh, I'm Dan Humphrey. My experience with sex and hooking up is...um...limited to a kissing booth," Dan said, getting redder the more he spoke. "And I hope not to die of embarrassment in here."

"Kissing booths can be awesome things," Dean told him with a grin. "I have very fond memories of some kissing booths here. And there's nothing to be embarrassed about, really. We all start out not having a clue and have to figure it out along the way."

Medusalith glanced over at Dan as he introduced himself, then did a double-take and demanded, "Who are you exactly and what have you done?"

He was talking. What? No, seriously, what?

Griff glanced around the room, trying not to look too pissed off about the whole thing before he spoke. "Yeah, Griff O'Conner, been around for a year now. I've...hooked up I guess? And I'm with that guy if we can move past the mocking portion now it'd be fantastic." Totally looking at you, Dan.

"There's going to be no mocking of students on my watch," Dean told him firmly. TA's on the other hand were fair game, but he wasn't going to mention that. "That isn't what this class is about."

"Dru Anderson, a couple months, and none okay?" Dru said. "I've never had time, been too busy hunting with my dad. I'm not sure how I wound up in this class, so I just want to get through it."

Yes, someone was just a touch defensive.

"Hunting?" Dean asked, centering in on the one portion of her answer that had nothing to do with the class. "What kind of hunting?"

Dean grinned widely at Calvin. "Wanting to is the first step. Hopefully we can help you figure out how to take the next few ones."

Another one of those awkward-looking ones riiiiight here. Not here by his choice, no. "I'm Chuck, I've been here since September." He had to take a moment to not be so pink before he got out, "Uh... A girl told me to come to her room without pants the other day?" No really, that was about the extent of his experience.

Ellie peered at Chuck, the look on her face conveying something along the lines of "seriously?" Then she wondered if she was going to have to chat with this girl.

"My name is Helen and I've been here for about two years now. I haven't had much success with the ... hooking up thing ... here at Fandom, but when I've gone away on the class trips I've done fairly well."

She sighed. "I don't know how to change that."

Tim's cheeks were pink. "I'm Tim. I just arrived on Saturday. I've never done more than kissing and, uh," he glanced at the syllabus, "I guess I'm just here to learn?"

Scully was glaring. "Dana Scully. I've been here a week. None of your business. I was signed up by friends who are going to suffer."

It was really sad that she had the most experience here so far, and her last date had ended with the guy getting arrested and both of them treated for ergot poisoning.

"Emmett Honeycutt! I got here in January. Lots of experience with the hooking and who comes after, notsomuch with the dating." By which he meant none. Not necessarily by choice; guys didn't date at home, they hooked up behind the bleachers and tried not to get caught.

"I'm Jacob Black. I've been on the island since the beginning of the," Jake introduced himself and then it was just... get this done and over with. "I've been seeing someone, but she left the island recently, and I don't kiss and tell."

Chuck was in this class, too?! Now Ellie really wanted to hide forever.

"I'm Ellie Bartowski, and I've been here a year now." She pretty much avoided looking at anyone. "Um, kissing is my only prior experience. And, uh, I guess I thought this class would be...interesting."

Maybe interesting wasn't the right word.

"Squall." He studied his desk intently. "I've been instructed in social niceties." Not that he gave any indication of it, or ever used any of that instruction. Because it was all stupid. "I hope to get a good grade." And avoid being teased by Rinoa, but he wasn't going to say that.

"Claudia Donovan. Been here a semester, so far. As for prior experience . . . there's a handful of guys back home who like to say they got as far as third base. They're liars."

Second and a half base, maybe. And only if they talked science to her, first. Don't you judge. . . .

"My name is Medusalith Amaquelin, this is my first term here, I don't see why I should have to answer that, and I do not recall signing up for this class," Medusalith said stiffly.

"Leia Organa," Leia said when her turn came, "and I've been here since the spring semester. And....I think you know the answer to that." She winked at Dean.
