As the students walk in, Mac is busy tinkering with a remote control car. He looks up and smiles and gestures to...

Surrounding the room are a series of small bank vaults.

"Today kids we are going to see how you guys do pulling a houdini. You are all going to be tied up with rope and locked in a bank vault that is currently under constuction. Your goal is to get out of the ropes and break out of the vault. If you wish to partner up with someone you may, or you can work on your own."

Each of the vaults have:
safety deposit boxes - filled with typical stuff you would find there
An oxygen tank
A toolbox with your standard tools
A drill ((Not able to penetrate vault door, walls or lock. Can puncture safety deposit box locks))
A chair
((No power tools available. No cutting torches or welding equipment feel free to add anything you might find in a bank vault))
Of course you will have your virtual Swiss Army Knife and Duct tape with you.

For next Tuesday, you will be required to make a homemade smokescreen to use as a means to escape detection. Please make a list of the items you require and we will replicate it here in the Danger ~~Room~~ Shop.

Sam? I want you to come up with an in-class assignment for next Thursday.

Kitty? Please arrange a time to work with Cally to train her on to use the Danger ~~Room~~ Shop Technology.

"Please tell me you're moving because it's more comfortable and not because the knife's in that pocket." Jack wiggled his hurt arm slightly to show it was the one behind her right side.

~~I'd suggest taunting Mac but if we fail this class neither of us will ever live it down.~~

[Sorry about that, wrote out something and stupidly assumed LJ didn't eat it.]

Sam groaned and tried to twist her way out of the ropes. "Shit. Is there any way you can reach? Maybe just untie the ropes?"

~~Yeah, no, we'll never hear the end of it.~~

[That'll teach you.]

"One handed? THat might be a little hard." Kawalsy's a dead man.

~~Never ever ever.~~

Sam wiggled a little more until the ropes had loosened enough so that she could angle her body a bit more. She turned her head so that she was able to look back over her shoulder, then started trying to untie them. It was really slow going, though.

"Do you have your knife? Or is there something in the toolbox? We could try to stand up and walk over there."

"Yeah it's in my right pocket. Wich would be your...left?"

"Please tell me it's in your right back pocket."

"You two kids done making out in there?"

((Soooo amused at the two of you.))

"We're fine, thanks," Sam said, damning Jack to hell for eternity as she blushed bright red.

((We do what we can...))

"Oh fuck off Carter you know I meant back. When do I ever put anything that's not a wallet in my front pocket?"

~~After all the hell I've been giving Daniel and Kawalsky I'd have to have a sex change and rename myself Chlamydia just for them to talk about something different.~~

Sam scowled. "How the hell do I know what you keep in your pockets, Jack? It's not like I spend my time sticking my hands into them."

She turned her body in the other direction, reaching her left hand into his pocket, getting the knife out. She reached behind her and used her right hand to extract the blade and began sawing at the ropes with her right hand.

She accidentally sliced into the index finger of her left hand as she finally cut the ropes free. "Ow. Damnit."

[OOC: Sorry to nit pick but the safety locks are on which means the virtual knife would not cut through skin. Just ignore it this time and go on with the scene though because I'm having fun watching you two.]

[OOC: Okay. Wasn't sure what the safety locks did, other than protecting people from things like explosions. Oh, and *ptthpt*]

Dammit. Stupid speech and it's stupid family talk crap. He knew he shouldn't've taken his problems out on her though. "Sorry, you didn't deserve that. Bad night."

Jack got up when the ropes fell and moved to take a look at Carter's hand. "Lemme see it."

"You'll tell me later?" It wasn't quite an order.

"Here." She stuck her hand out absently as she began surveying the vault for a way out.

[ooc: Okay. I'll be off soon for a little while, anyway. Hey, did you see that you got detention tomorrow?]

"Yeahsureyoubetcha." Jack mummbled. Odds were that if he didn't tell her she'd ask around and then everyone would be asking him questions.

Jack took a look at the cut on her finger. Not deep enough for a stitch but right on the bend, it would probably bleed for a bit. "Doesn't look too bad but I'd put that ducktape to good use so you don't bleed all over."

~~"Nope. Chlamydia free me. Never had it and don't plan on getting it."~~

[What? Where? I totally didn't see that.]

Okay, that was less than completely inspiring, Jack. She'd harass him out of it later.

She looked down at her finger, then around the vault for some antiseptic wipes or a gauze pad. She didn't find any. Sighing, she took a strip of duct tape off the roll and wrapped it around her finger.

"Now what?"

*laughing* No one plans to get it.

Sam rolled her eyes. "Try again. You want half the grade, you do half the work."

[I've been having the same problem lately. Are you going to argue it, or take the detention? At least it's with CJ.]

"I didn't say I wouldn't do anything, I just think you should make a plan. If Colorado taught us anything it's that planning is pretty much useless anyway."

Sam mumbled something under her breath. She really needed Daniel to teach her to swear in Goa'uld. "Fine."

She looked around. Oxygen tank, hand tools, a drill, a chair, and whatever was in the safety deposit boxes. She frowned. "Right now? I think my plan is to make a very large bomb out of the oxygen tank and blow the door off. Or, we can just rig the angle correctly and use the tank's propulsion to open the door out. The hinges are on the outside, so that's no help."

[It'll probably involve both an IC and OOC appeal to Spider and/or Dean Bristow, and may result in you getting another detention.]

"Between plan A and plan B I'd go with A too. With the hinges on the outside we run a high chance of ricocheting something rather then getting out."

[I'd rather Jack deal with CJ now instead of say Drusilla later. Also? Mun could so teach Sam to swear in Goa'uld. Let me know if you ever write a letter to Teal'c asking.]

"Okay, then. I guess the first step is to roll the tank over to the door, then. Since I've got two working hands, why don't you help me lower it down to the ground, then I'll roll it into position."

She looked at Jack. "Do you think we should check the safe deposit boxes first? No, wait!" She looked up at the ceiling, at the sprinkler. "Check. Is the vault on an electric timer or lock?"

[Probably a good choice. I'll keep you posted about the swearing thing.]

Jack takes a look at all the doohickeys on the back of the door. It takes him a moment to figure out what he's looking for. "I'm pretty positive it's set to timer."

Sam grins, a little maniacally. "Excellent."

She takes a saw out of the tool box, and promptly begins cutting a leg off of the chair. "We're going to activate the sprinkler and short out the electrical system. You look through the toolbox and find something that will make a spark, so we can get some smoke going."

"I would just like to say, when I get electrocuted?" Jack started as he searched through the toolbox. "I'm going to come back and hanut you for the ret of your life. All of them."

Huh. "Okay, rusty nail, rusty hammer, good screw, good hammer, good wrench, and a piece of paper that says 'iou 1 flamethrower.' I think the teacher might be a little off."
