Ethics [Tuesday, March 23, 2nd period]

Today Anakin's desk was covered with droid babies in bassinets. Each baby had a tiny stuffed Ewok tucked next to it. Hush.

"Today we talk about lust," Anakin said, pulling his attention back from the wall he'd been staring at, trying to get a handle on a bad feeling he'd been having since stepping foot on the island yesterday. "Or rather, the unintended consequences that can happen when you take action without precautions."

He smiled. Evilly. Some of his lesson plans might have changed this semester, but he had been looking forward to the droid babies with something close to unholy glee this go-around. "Meet your little projects for the next week. They're heavy, they cry, and they will record everything you do with them. So if you stuff them into a closet for the duration, believe me, I'll know."

After all, he'd built all of them.

He reached for a list of paper. "I've paired you up together." His smile turned a little more evil. "And some of your babies are a little fussier than others."

"Do you know any nannies?" Bod asked, curious.

"No," he made a face as if it was Bod's fault he was being logical. "I mean, I'd find someone at the rez who could, but not here."

"And I only really know people here and ghosts," he pointed out. "So. We could hire someone? There has to be a service for this sort of thing."

"Yeah, there's probably someone on the mainland if we couldn't find anyone here," Jacob said reluctantly. "I'm just kind of broke." Because he spent all he had on the whole bike trip with Morgana and...

No, Jake. Don't even think about it. Don't.

"So am I." Bod paused, obviously giving some thought to this particular dilemma. "I'm out of ideas."

And Jake still had one. Which was a bad one, except he kind of thought it could work.

"There's support services," he said. Meaning one member really.

"Support services?" Bod repeated. He'd heard the name on the radio but hadn't connected that they were a babysitting service.

"Morgana might know how to deal with this," Jacob mumbled to the table.

"Morgana?" Bod repeated, letting a smile cross his face now. "I bet she'd at least listen if you asked her."

"Yeah," he frowned, wondering if it was wrong to ask her. "Or we can just toss the thing in a closet."

"We probably shouldn't decide that within earshot of the professor," Bod pointed out, eyes going over to Professor Skywalker.

"Probably not," Jacob agreed and he picked the robot up as if it might explode any minute. "It's one of those that cry, isn't it?"

"I'd assume so," Bod said and scratched his chin. "Should we name it?"

"I don't know," Jacob glanced at Bod. "Are you going to get attached to it if we do?"

"I think it would depend on the name," Bod replied, thoughtful. "Droid Girl?"

"Does this look lik-" he didn't get to finish the sentence as the droid didn't agree with the whole being turned around thing and started wailing.

Jake cringed, his ears not agreeing with the torture and he dropped the thing to the table.

"...what did you do to it?" asked Bod, looking momentarily surprised before taking a step back from the table.

"I don't know! You do something," Jake motioned towards the thing. No way was he touching that again. "It's your droid girl."

"It's our droid child," Bod said quickly, shooting a look at Jacob. "I am not the only person that gets to deal with this."

"You haven't even touched it! It's your turn now," Jacob argued, because his turn consisted of making it cry and that thing was hurting his ears.

"I don't know how to hold it," he said but stepped forward and reached a hand out to brush over it's...head lightly anyway, hoping for a cessation of crying.

"Obviously I don't either," Jacob pointed out. "You're supposed to cradle it or something."

Ugh, he hated this class.

After a moment of light stroking, Bod tried to pick up the wailing droid. The droid continued to wail. Obviously, neither of them had very good luck with this sort of thing.

"You know, I think Droid Girls likes you," Jacob said, mostly just because he wanted nothing to do with the thing.

"You are not getting out of this," Bod said sternly. "We live in the same room, you won't be able to get out of this."
