Library [01/13]

Sam was in a slightly better mood than he'd been for the past few days once he was settled in at the library. Yes, it was terribly geeky how being in the library calmed him down, but he needed one place where he could come and clear his thoughts, so he didn't think this trait would be changing any time soon.

"Hey," Chuck said when he came in around his usual time. "Brace yourself, I brought sushi for myself again. Try not to get too grossed out."

The face Sam made was purely instinctual, despite Chuck's warning. "You know, we have fire for a reason, so people don't have to eat raw food."

"It's good," he said, handing Sam a bag that contained a burger and fries. "Something you'd realize if you quit being a five year old and tried it."

Sam glanced over at Chuck and his food. "What kind of sushi are you having?"

"A couple kinds. California rolls, spicy tuna rolls," Chuck said, pointing each one out. "And the ones with the sauce on them are Hawaiian rolls."

"Are any of those less seaweedy than the others?" Yes, seaweedy was totally a word, and Sam wished he was less affected by being made fun of.

"Are you sure?" Sam asked. "I mean, it kind of looks like a key component."

Chuck rolled his eyes and picked up a tuna roll with his chopsticks. "Just try one. If you don't like it you can, I don't know, make me do something embarrassing as punishment for pressuring you."

Sam looked like he still wanted to protest, but instead he just sighed and reached to take the sushi from the chopsticks. "I'm going to hold you to that," he warned.

Sam was in the library, therefore Claire showed up with coffee.

She may regret that, since she still didn't know Sam got one of her messages over the weekend. But at the moment, she was smiling.

"Hey, Sam. Happy Wednesday."

"Hey," Sam said, looking much happier at the sight of both Claire and coffee. "How's it going?"

Henry was abusing the printers at the library to get clear copies of all the photos of Alba that he had as digital files.

Cindy might be slightly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of baby pictures.
