Sam was in a slightly better mood than he'd been for the past few days once he was settled in at the library. Yes, it was terribly geeky how being in the library calmed him down, but he needed one place where he could come and clear his thoughts, so he didn't think this trait would be changing any time soon.

"Can't complain," she said, handing him the coffee before sipping her hot chocolate. "How's everything going?"

"Okay, I guess," he said. "It's been kind of a nicely quiet week."

"Yeah, definitely," Claire agreed. "And my classes have been pretty good so far."

"And it's been better than this weekend," Sam said, smirking at Claire.

"No kidding," she said. "Did you get weird messages too?"

"Yeeeeah, a few?" he said, trying to give her a casual look.

Claire felt her stomach drop. "Oh, no. You got one of mine, didn't you?"

"Just one," Sam said. "Did you have a nice time at the hotel?"

Claire groaned. "No, we didn't end up going."

Because, you know, Jon hadn't gotten her messages.

"Um, sorry?" Sam said. "If it makes you feel any better, it's happened before. And it wasn't just you, although I imagine you already know that."

"Yeah, I figured that out," she said. "I'm just embarrassed. You know I'd never ever hit on you, right?"

"Yeah, I know," Sam said with a laugh. "You didn't even send me the craziest message, don't worry."

"Seriously? Well, that's good, I guess," Claire said. "So, anyway. How were your classes so far?"

"Pretty good. Fashion was...less traumatizing than I imagined," Sam said.

"Well, it was just introductions."

Don't scare him, Claire.

"Well...maybe it'll be just as tame this week?" Sam said hopefully.

"Guess we'll find out," she said. "Are you going to cheerleading this afternoon?"

"Yeah, I'll be there," Sam said. "I'd be a terrible co-captain if I skipped."
