Living With Difficult Women [Tuesday, Period 5]

With his high level of expertise on the subject, Max hadn't really prepped for class today, or even looked at the class roster. He'd planned to simply launch into an introduction of the topic and outline the goals for the class. He walked in, smiled at his gathered students, and froze.

There were difficult women in his class. Difficult women that he had not brought in to use as examples. He wasn't sure that revealing to them the secret techniques used to make living with them possible would be all that good an idea. After all, as difficult women they were sure to use their knowledge of such techniques to counter them, and make life more difficult for everyone involved.

So, obviously, Max needed a plan. There had to be a way to deal with this problem, after all. Unfortunately he wasn't quick enough on his feet to come up with one on the spot. Max needed a distraction. Max needed...

"That introduction thing. You all know how it works by now. Get to it. And I think that telling us why you're in this class would be helpful." How many of them were spies?

"I am Arthur Pendragon," Arthur started, more than a bit put off by all the women, himself. "I'm a senior, and I'm here because it looked to be useful, considering the women I know."

Put-off, and also without any sense of self-preservation. It was the way he rolled.

A man of Max's own heart. "That is the best reason I can think of to be in this class," Max nodded. He even tossed in a sympathetic look that pretty much said women.

"Leia Organa, junior," Leia introduced herself. "I'm not sure why I was assigned to this class, unless it was my father's idea of a joke because of how I complain about my aunts."

As a woman, Leia was already suspect, but it sounded like she might have a decent reason in this case. "Are there any other difficult women you know or are related to?"

"Hannibal King. Senior." Honestly, Hannibal didn't know how he'd gotten in this class because he lived with Angela and she wasn't at all difficult. "And I guess I'm here because knowing how to deal with possible future difficult situations in regards to girls is better than not knowing and ending up completely castrated."

Um.

"Metaphorically. Hopefully."

"Uhhh, I'm Hurley, uhhh, Hugo Reyes. And I'm a senior. I'm honestly not sure why I'm here? I think there was some sort of paperwork error with my class registrations or something. I don't really have any difficult women in my life," he said.

That would come later in life.

Yet. Max didn't vocalize it, but his look said it for him. "Well, maybe you'll learn something that'll end up being useful later on for you."

Helen was stunned. Not only by the class, but by who was teaching it. Hair was definitely down covering her face.

"I am Helen Haras-Uquara. I am a junior and I am not supposed to be in this class. However, I am told it is not possible to switch, therefore..." her voice dropped off. "I am here."

"And you don't know any difficult women that this class might help you with?" Fortunately or unfortunately Max didn't seem all that perturbed by Helen's presence. It had been an honest mistake, after all!

Mat was walking a fine line, trying to be honest without getting sliced into pieces by all of the women in the class.

"I'm Mat Cauthon," he said, "and it's my final semester, which means that I will be heading home to deal with some bloody insane women. Hopefully this class will keep me in one piece when I tell them to stop being foolish."

Max could read between the lines, and besides he recognized Mat by type. And smiled ever so slightly in approval. "An admirable goal, Cauthon. Hopefully you'll learn something that turns out to be useful." Back home... and in Fandom.

"I'm Francine Peters," Francine began, eying the number of girls in the class herself. "I'm a senior and Arthur Pendragon you do not get to tease Katchoo about this because I didn't sign up for this class."

Because that would stop him.

"Aravis. Senior. I have not the faintest idea why or how I am here," she said, looking irritated already. "I certainly don't live with any difficult women. Difficult men, perhaps, but I don't even have any other ladies at home."

Yes, Aravis. You are the difficult woman in question. Accept this.

An impish pause.

"I think I'm maybe here to make your life difficult, Centurion." Sweetly. Oh so sweetly.

And yes, this had been a paperwork error but she was damned if she was going to admit it. Hmph.
