BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.

So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

Hayley sat down, suitcases by her side. She wore a plain white blouse with a black skirt, stockings, and shoes. Effectively, her old St. Agnes' uniform. She sighed with relief, glad to know she wasn't under the watchful eye of any more GCPD officers.

She smiled broadly, crossed her legs and started to swing them, idly.

"You bet!" Hayley said, voice all happy and chirpy. "I just got myself all enrolled yesterday."

"Wow, you actually chose to come to this joint?" Hayley said. "That's just one big tickle, ain't it?"

"Nope!" Hayley said. "I'm here for rehabilitation!"

She seemed so happy about it.

"It really ain't," Hayley said. "It's practically the opposite."

Dear lord, Hayley was the one making the most sense in this conversation.

"Like, something I got to do, more than something where I get to just relax?" she said. "You know, so kinda like a job, I guess."

"Oh, I dunno," Hayley said. "I hope so. I don't think any of the officers will be breathin' down my neck about stuff. They kinda just left me here, after all."

It was a pretty plain uniform, especially compared to Baker & Ingles and its kilts, but it was still a uniform all the same, and so Cal could not help himself being a little intrigued by the girl wearing on. And he tried not to watch her but as he looked the crowd over, his eyes kept going to her with curiosity.

He had a tentative smile waiting, ready to pull out with a nod of his head if she caught him look and was all what the hell?

But. Uniform.

Hayley did catch him looking, but it only caused her to blush a little and cover her mouth to giggle a bit.

She hazarded a wave at her admirer.

Okay. A cute girl in a uniformish outfit, blushing and giggling because he was looking at her.

A part of Cal's brain just died entirely, and it was a very beautiful, blissful death, leaving his other cells to beg and clamor for the same fate.

Blushing a little now himself and with his throat going almost completely dry, Cal somehow managed a smile and a light wave back and even a couple steps to bring him closer so he could choke out a, "Hi."

"Hi!" Hayley said, her tone light and bubbly. "You waiting to go to the school, too?"

"Uh-huh," Cal said, nodding and remembering to actually talk. He tried to think of something intelligent or even impressive to say, and failed.

"You excited?"

Hayley smiled and shook her head.

"I ain't got much hope for the school. I figure, has to be a mean old place, right?"

The idea of Fandom being a mean old place made Cal snort a bit, which kind of ruined any chances of managing to be too serious as he nodded solemnly. "Oh," he said, "terrible."

He reminded himself (as if he had to) of the uniform. Private school. He'd been there, done that, and they could be cruel.

"So bad that I've even coming back for another semester."

"Wow, you musta done something real bad," Hayley said, assuming everyone was sent to the school for doing crime like things.

Again, Cal's crooked grin might have betrayed him, but what he said actually was very true.

"Well, I did just get out of a Turkish prison recently."

"Wow," Hayley said. She looked over at him with big, practically adoring eyes. "You must be amazing."

And he must also be dreaming.

Cal bit his lip against what he figured would not be a very amazing smile, blushing deeply, and finding himself having to avoid those practically adoring eyes as he shrugged modestly. "Well, I mean, it would only be my second time..."

"...you didn't kill anybody, did you?" Hayley said.

Not that she would've minded if he did.
