Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.

So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

"You bet!" Hayley said, voice all happy and chirpy. "I just got myself all enrolled yesterday."

"Well, I wanted to go to college, but I didn't get in," Eric explained. "So I'm re-doing my senior year. You didn't choose to come here?"

"Nope!" Hayley said. "I'm here for rehabilitation!"

She seemed so happy about it.

"It really ain't," Hayley said. "It's practically the opposite."

That was Eric's idea of the opposite of vacation.

"Like, something I got to do, more than something where I get to just relax?" she said. "You know, so kinda like a job, I guess."

"Oh, I dunno," Hayley said. "I hope so. I don't think any of the officers will be breathin' down my neck about stuff. They kinda just left me here, after all."
