Detention (10-15-05)

Drusilla waits in the room for this week's students with detention. Eyeless porcelain dolls in various states of disrepair are scattered throughout the room. On the cracked blackboard is written the names of the students with detention this weekend. A slide projector sits in the room and off to the side a screen has been set up.

Drusilla paces at the front of the classroom, waiting for everyone to arrive.

ETA: OOC: Dru isn't letting anyone out until everyone who isn't skipping out on detention says what they've done wrong. This means, Jayne and Buffy, that you guys should at least reply once. Come on, everyone else is playing along. Your characters are stuck here; let's try and make it fun for the players, at least.

Also ETA: OOC: If Buffy hasn't responded by midnight, Dru lets everyone go. Presume your entire Saturday is completely shot.

OOC: I'm willing to roleplay my way through detention if you are... However, it has to be slowly, as RL leaves me with an infant to deal with all day.

Jake followed him up, smiling back. "Kissed his girlfriend in the journalism room," he jabbed his thumb towards Logan. "It was very, very wrong and I'm.. I won't do it again."

Logan turns to Jake, and says in a low voice (that is pitched just loud enough for everyone in the classroom to hear), "I'm sorry, man. Violence was an inappropriate response to the situation. Can you ever forgive me?"

"Hey, bygones," Jake shrugged. He decided to push his luck, lowering his voice. "So do I still have a room to go home to, or did you set it on fire last night?"

Following Jake to the front of the classroom, Beka gave him a sympathetic half-smile. "Exercised poor judgment in plotting the kissing-mischief." Then, with a very apologetic nod to Logan, she continued, "And was irresponsible in not watching it play out so that I could intervene if necessary. I should've stopped it. I'm very sorry."

"Aw, that's okay!" Logan says. "Hugs all around!" He holds out his arms to Beka.

Beka eyed Logan with cautious amusement. A single decisive nod, then she walked into his arms. "All right. But no kissing."

Logan chuckled. "No, that would be a bad idea."

"Very bad. From the beginning," she said quietly by his ear, pitched low enough that he, and a vampire, might hear it. "Sorry. Really."

"You made plans to get between a girl and her lover?" asked Drusilla. "For shame. If anyone got between my love and I, I would claw their eyes out be very, very unhappy." Drusilla sighed. "Poor Logan."

Logan looked at her, surprise melting his artificial grin. He quickly pasted it back on. "Thank you for understanding, Professor."

Beka looked mildly alarmed. "They intended a joke. Rory loves..." She shook her head. "I played along and I shouldn't have. Stupid."

"He started it!" Jake said, exclaimed, waving his hand. He paused. "Althought, of course, I was still wrong. Bad me. But he started it by making out with Alex!"

"And is Alex your boyfriend?" asked Drusilla. "Or your girlfriend?" She nodded. "Revenge is a very powerful motivation."

Jake blinked. "Uh. Boyfriend." He eyed the professor a little oddly. "I guess it is. I mean, how was I supposed to know psycho-boy would go psycho? He never sounds like this when he tells me to buy more peanut butter!"

"Peanut butter very rarely causes psychotic breaks," says Drusilla, laughing. "Silly boy. Now then. Tell me how you thought to start this kiss with little Miss Rory?"

Logan's eyes flicker towards Jake and narrow ever-so-slightly.

Jake blinked. He'd thought Spider was the craziest teacher they had. Seemed like he'd been wrong about that. "Uh, it made sense at the time? You know, don't get mad, get even? So since Logan kissed a boy, Rory should kiss a girl. ...I can be a girl. I'm not one now," he clarified, just in case.

Beka shot Jake a 'pipe down' look. "That happened at a party," she said smoothly. "There was drinking merriment. If we had been at a party, it might've just been funny."

"Because you wouldn't have been caught," says Drusilla. "Do you think everything's all right when you're not caught out at your mean little tricks?"

Beka's hands tensed, but she forced herself to let go of pointless frustration. "Not getting caught is a survival skill, not a justification." With a nod to Logan and Jake and thoughts of absent Rory, Krycek and Lily, she continued, "Being at a party, playing Truth or Dare, would've given Logan context, and choices."

Drusilla shook her head sadly. "Shame, shame," she said. "Trying to excuse away not wanting to be caught. Trying to make everything better by telling them you didn't mean to hurt them, when really you're just mad you got caught."

"Really," purred Drusilla, leaning forward, her eyes glinting hard in the light. "So it's all right to try to hurt someone if you make it into a game? You don't sound very sorry at all."

[ooc: Yeah, I wasn't sure if you knew about that - if you did, then you are *very* observant, since it's been alluded to twice that I can think of. But yeah...she hasn't quite admitted it to herself yet, because of past hurts, etc. So this causes no problems whatsoever, and actually helps out nicely. :)]
