Detention (10-15-05)

Drusilla waits in the room for this week's students with detention. Eyeless porcelain dolls in various states of disrepair are scattered throughout the room. On the cracked blackboard is written the names of the students with detention this weekend. A slide projector sits in the room and off to the side a screen has been set up.

Drusilla paces at the front of the classroom, waiting for everyone to arrive.

ETA: OOC: Dru isn't letting anyone out until everyone who isn't skipping out on detention says what they've done wrong. This means, Jayne and Buffy, that you guys should at least reply once. Come on, everyone else is playing along. Your characters are stuck here; let's try and make it fun for the players, at least.

Also ETA: OOC: If Buffy hasn't responded by midnight, Dru lets everyone go. Presume your entire Saturday is completely shot.

OOC: I'm willing to roleplay my way through detention if you are... However, it has to be slowly, as RL leaves me with an infant to deal with all day.

Logan's eyes flicker towards Jake and narrow ever-so-slightly.

Jake blinked. He'd thought Spider was the craziest teacher they had. Seemed like he'd been wrong about that. "Uh, it made sense at the time? You know, don't get mad, get even? So since Logan kissed a boy, Rory should kiss a girl. ...I can be a girl. I'm not one now," he clarified, just in case.

"So you talked the little girlfriend into going along with the plan? Did you tell her why you did it? Did she know you wanted to hurt Logan?"

Drusilla tilted her head, curious. "You're very much a boy now. Miss Edith can't see, but I can."

Jake glanced quickly over at Logan, a little surprised. "I wasn't trying to hurt him."

She stared at him flatly. "What did you think you were going to do?" she asked.

Returning his attention to the professor, he frowned a little. Logan was hurt? "Annoy him," he replied absently. "Piss him off at most." He realised he was talking as thought Logan wasn't standing right beside them, but Logan wasn't saying much. Jake gave him a quick look again. "Rory's his, he knows that."

Logan leaned back against the desk and watched Drusilla talk to the other students with a puzzled smile on his face.

Drusilla turned to him and let the ghost of a smile pass across her face. "Do you think she belongs to you, then?" she asked curiously. "This Rory."

"No, of course not," Logan said. "She's her own person."

"So if she chose to do this thing, why did you get mad at Jake?" asked Drusilla. "Or were you mad at Rory too?"

"I'm mad at both of them," replied Logan. He glanced back up at the audience area, but a curtain now covered the windows.

Drusilla nodded. "Betrayal?" she asked.

"Well, yeah," Logan said.

"How does betrayal make you feel?" asked Drusilla. "What were you thinking?"

Logan shifted a little and stuck his hands in his pocket. "Betrayed," he said.

Drusilla laughs gently at him and points to a desk. "Sit," she says.

Logan sat down, folded his hands neatly on the desk and smiled up at her.

Drusilla's glance strays toward Lilly, then back to Logan. She sits down near him, and says in a low, soft voice, "You've been betrayed before, haven't you?"

Logan shrugged. "Hasn't everyone?"

"But not everyone is still so angry at every betrayal," she says. "Fresh echoes now of older betrayals, layering anger upon anger." She rests her hand on one chin as she looks at Logan. "What do you do about that?"

Logan frowns, and checks to see if anyone's listening. He shrugs. "What do you mean?"
