Detention (10-15-05)

Drusilla waits in the room for this week's students with detention. Eyeless porcelain dolls in various states of disrepair are scattered throughout the room. On the cracked blackboard is written the names of the students with detention this weekend. A slide projector sits in the room and off to the side a screen has been set up.

Drusilla paces at the front of the classroom, waiting for everyone to arrive.

ETA: OOC: Dru isn't letting anyone out until everyone who isn't skipping out on detention says what they've done wrong. This means, Jayne and Buffy, that you guys should at least reply once. Come on, everyone else is playing along. Your characters are stuck here; let's try and make it fun for the players, at least.

Also ETA: OOC: If Buffy hasn't responded by midnight, Dru lets everyone go. Presume your entire Saturday is completely shot.

OOC: I'm willing to roleplay my way through detention if you are... However, it has to be slowly, as RL leaves me with an infant to deal with all day.

Angela sticks her head in the door. "Miss Drusilla?" she says warily. "I think Rory rescheduled her detention for next week. She had to visit her grandparents this weekend."

Jake enters the room, eyeing the dolls warily. He'd be entirely unsurprised if one of the doll parts suddenly came to life, and thus tried to find somewhere to sit that wasn't too close to any of the dolls.

Drusilla nods. "Thank you," she says brightly, then takes a piece of chalk and crosses Rory's name out. Then she goes over it again, and again, and again, until the whole name is covered over with a thick, white bar of chalk. Drusilla dusts her hands together and looks satisfied.

Logan enters the room. His eyes narrow when he sees Jake, but he forces a small smile on his face and takes a seat near the front of the classroom.

Anders slinks in, looking very much on edge and creeped the frak out by the dolls.

"Mr. Jayne Cobb," says Drusilla brightly. "Why don't you stand up, come up to the front of the classroom, and tell everyone what you did wrong to earn detention?"

"Tell us what you did to earn detention, Jake," says Drusilla. She smiles cheerfully at him. "Come up to the front of the class and do it."

As she enters the classroom, Beka's expression settles into respectful neutrality. She takes a seat near the middle of the room and off to the right where she can see the screen, her classmates, and keep a close eye on the very creepy dolls. Just in case.

"Logan Echolls," says Drusilla, drawing his name out. "You were a very naughty boy. "Come up to the front and tell us what made you be so bad."

Drusilla smiles at him. "Hello, again," she says. "Anders, be a dear boy and come up to the front of the class. Let us all know why you're here."

OOC: You're going to have to check with Spider or Bristow on anything involving the word "backdating" as they're the game mods. :) But as I'm curious too, I'll drop them both voicemails and ask them to make their rulings here so I know the answer too.

((OOC: The Saturday of any character in detention is shot. They can do nothing until Drusilla declares them free to go. Back-dating is still illegal, last time I checked.))

((OOC: And you can delete this if it's cluttering up your post, Drusilla. I'll talk to Bristow and get something official posted, but detention is supposed to take the entire day of Saturday. No student in detention can do anything else until given leave to go. They are stuck for the entire day.))

With a groan, Anders shuffles up to the front of the room, his hands crammed into his pockets, and says, "Iforgottogotopsychclasslastweek."

Logan stands up, stretches, and strides to the front of the class. "I," he said, folding his hands neatly in front of him, "punched Jake. I know now that what I did was wrong, and I'm sorry." He shoots Jake a cheerful, if not entirely sincere, smile.

Jake followed him up, smiling back. "Kissed his girlfriend in the journalism room," he jabbed his thumb towards Logan. "It was very, very wrong and I'm.. I won't do it again."
